Data & Methodology
Every number on this site has a source and a label. When a number isn't public, we say so instead of guessing.
Data labels
Published by the platform or publisher in an official statement.
Stated publicly by the developer (devlog, post or interview). Not audited.
Modelled by an external service. Treat as a rough range, not a count.
Snapshot taken by us from a public page on the date shown.
Submitted or mentioned somewhere, but not yet checked by our editors.
No public figure exists. We never fill gaps with estimates presented as facts.
Metrics are not interchangeable
These measure different things. We show them separately and never add or convert between them.
- All-time peak concurrent players
- Highest number of people playing at the same moment. Not a count of players or sales.
- Estimated owners
- Third-party model of how many accounts own the game. Includes free keys and bundles; not sales.
- Downloads
- Publicly disclosed install or download count.
- Copies sold
- Disclosed paid units. Not the same as owners or players.
- Gross revenue
- Disclosed lifetime revenue before platform fees, refunds and taxes.
Verifying AI tool usage
A game is listed when a public source — devlog, repository history, interview, press kit or developer post — states that AI coding tools did a meaningful share of development. A profile is marked Verified when an editor has checked that source; Partially verified when tool usage is confirmed but details (such as the split of work) are not; Unverified while a submission awaits review.
AI-written code percentages are always developer estimates and labelled as such.
Classification
Every game is classified on independent dimensions: genre, gameplay mechanics, AI development tool, development method, platform, pricing, availability and popularity. Genre, gameplay and development method are set by our editors; platform, pricing and availability come from each platform listing; solo developer comes from the disclosed team size. A game can appear in many categories and rankings but always has exactly one canonical profile page.
Popularity labels need evidence. Viral and Trending require dated, independent press coverage (Trending can also come from our observed trend score). Most Played compares observed concurrent-player peaks on the same platform only. Community Favorite stays empty until real voting opens.
Category and ranking pages are only submitted to search engines once they contain at least 3 qualifying games. Smaller lists stay browsable but are marked noindex.
Official sites, copies and versions
Popular browser games attract look-alike domains, mirrors and independent remakes. Before we merge sites or versions into one record we confirm the developer, the canonical source (usually the developer's own statement of their official address) and the relationship between versions. Sites that are not confirmed as the same work are listed on the profile with their relationship — official, not affiliated, self-described unofficial, or unconfirmed — and their traffic or popularity claims are never attributed to the original game.
A “Play Free” button is shown only for links verified as the creator's own or official page.
