Privacy policy

VibeGameDB (vibegamedb.com) is a database of games built with AI coding tools. You can read every page without an account. This page explains what we collect and why.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits, see which pages are read and learn how visitors found the site (search, social media, links). Google Analytics sets cookies and receives your IP address, which Google uses to estimate your country and city; Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We use the data only as statistics, not to identify you.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics cookies stay off until you accept them in the banner. If you decline, Google receives only cookieless signals without identifiers. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

Advertising

We may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.

You can turn off personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings, and opt out of some third-party vendors' personalised ads at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu. Learn more about how Google uses data. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before personalised ads are shown.

Forms

When you use the contact form, “Submit a game”, “Claim a profile” or “Report incorrect information”, the details you enter (including your email address, if you give one) are sent to our editors' inbox through Web3Forms, an email-forwarding service. We use them only to check the information and reply to you. Nothing you send is published until its sources have been checked.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes technical request data, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver pages and protect the service.

What we store in your browser

  • vg_locale (cookie): the language you chose, so we don't ask again. Kept for one year.
  • vg_consent (local storage): your answer to the cookie banner.
  • Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*), only when analytics is allowed.
  • Advertising cookies set by Google and its partners, only when ads are shown and, where required, after you consent.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell personal data.
  • Share buttons are plain links to each network's share page. They load no scripts from those networks until you click one; then you are on that network's site, under its privacy policy.
  • Game pages link to stores and game sites (Steam, itch.io and others), which have their own privacy policies.

How long we keep data

Google Analytics event data is kept for 14 months. Form messages are kept in our inbox only as long as we need them to handle your submission, report or question.

Your rights

You can ask what personal data we hold about you (in practice, form messages) and ask us to correct or delete it. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Contact

For privacy questions or requests, use the contact form and choose “Privacy request”.
