About Blackjack 21 - Free Browser Card Game

A browser blackjack game against a dealer. You start with 100 chips and play to the usual goal of beating the dealer's hand without going over 21; you can hit, stand, double down after your first two cards and split pairs into up to four hands, and a blackjack pays 3 to 2. The table uses one 52-card deck shuffled every round, and the dealer draws to 17 and stands on every 17, soft 17 included. The smallest bet is 5 chips; the run ends when your bankroll drops below 5, your peak bankroll is the score, and the five best runs are kept on your device with three-letter initials. Two dealers, Hana Fuda and Jack Pott, are picked at random and comment between rounds. The developer says the game has 11 languages (English, Portuguese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Turkish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese and Korean), picks the browser's language, and that the translations have not yet been checked by native speakers. It plays with mouse, touch or keyboard on desktop and phone, with no account and no ads. In the jam submission, the developer, Francisco Cidade, credits Claude for coding and ComfyUI for image generation. Free in the browser on itch.io; it was entered in AI Browser Game Jam 5.

ClaudePrimary

The AI Tools Used answer on the AI Browser Game Jam 5 submission reads “Claude for coding and ComfyUI for image generation.” In a reply on that page the developer says the ComfyUI model was Animagine XL 4.0 Opt. Whether Claude was used through the chat app, Claude Code or another product, and which model, is not stated. The itch.io page itself has no AI statement beyond itch's AI disclosure, which ticks Code, Graphics, Sounds and Text.

Development approach

A browser game in JavaScript, made for AI Browser Game Jam 5 (theme: Torch). The developer credits Claude with the coding; the images were generated in ComfyUI with the Animagine XL 4.0 Opt model, and the sound effects are generated in the browser, per the page. The interface is translated into 11 languages, which the developer says have not been checked by native speakers. Version 0.6.0, released the same day as the game, added Again and All in chips, captions under the action buttons and a clearer rule for doubling down after friends playtested it.

Verification notes: Rules, controls and languages from the developer's itch.io page (published 30 Oct 2026, 03:29 UTC; updated 3 Nov 2026, 17:09 UTC; status Released; HTML5; genre Card Game) and its two devlogs (30 Oct 2026); AI use from the AI Tools Used answer on the official AI Browser Game Jam 5 submission page and the developer's reply there naming the image model. All were re-read on 5 Nov 2026. The code attribution is a short credit (“Claude for coding”) and gives no share, so no AI code share is recorded; the Claude product used is not named. The language list is the developer's; the language menu in the browser build lists Chinese as Simplified Chinese (observed). The page also lists the game as a submission to Playtest & Feedback Exchange Jam #9. The game's JavaScript makes no calls to AI services. Submissions closed on 31 Oct 2026 and voting runs until 7 Nov 2026, 04:00 UTC, so no placement is recorded; on 5 Nov the submission page showed 3 jam ratings (observed; jam votes, not players or reviews, so not recorded as a metric). itch.io shows no public rating and no download count. The game was not played.
