About Freya

A free sci-fi visual novel in Turkish and English. The ship Ardıç is in orbit around Freya, a blue-and-copper planet of colour-changing plants, glowing insects, giant creatures under the waterfalls and the Sevra tribe. The crew believes it has come to explore, but two of its members carry a mission nobody else knows about, and on a painter's wall in the village two unreadable letters sit beneath an eye looking down from the sky. You play the story from both sides, first as the Earth crew and then as the Sevra, and learn on one side what you could not know on the other. Hidden values track trust, the severity of an epidemic and what the company learns; failed choices open new paths instead of ending the game, and seven endings can each be reached from either side. Each side takes about 35 to 40 minutes. The developer says the story, most of the ideas and the design decisions are the developer's own, and that the code, the code-drawn visuals, the music and the English translation were made with the help of Claude. It plays in the browser on a computer or phone, with an Android download; the page carries a content warning.

The developer's AI note on the itch.io page (in Turkish and English) says the game's code, its code-drawn visuals, its music and the English translation were made with the help of AI (Claude), while the story, most of the ideas and the design decisions are the developer's own. No Claude product or model is named. The itch.io AI disclosure ticks Code, Graphics, Sounds and Text.

Development approach

The developer wrote the story and made most of the ideas and design decisions; the code, the visuals (drawn in code), the music and the English translation were made with Claude's help. The web build loads the Flutter web bootstrap, and an Android APK is offered alongside it. Saves are kept on the device and in Google Firebase under an anonymous ID; usage analytics are opt-in.

“The game's code, its code-drawn visuals, its music and the English translation were made with the help of AI (Claude). The story, most of the ideas and the design decisions are my own.”

Verification notes: AI use from the developer's own bilingual AI note on the itch.io page; the launch devlog does not mention AI, and no independent source was found. The developer names Claude without a product or model, so the tool is recorded as Claude. The note says the code was made with the help of AI, so the game is classed as AI-assisted. The AI note is in the first person, while other lines on the page say “we read every one”, so team size and developer type are left undisclosed. Release date from the itch.io “Published” date and the launch devlog (2 Nov 2026). Flutter was identified from the web build (it loads flutter_bootstrap.js), not from a developer statement. The trailer is embedded on the itch.io page and the devlog. Firebase and Google Analytics (opt-in) are used for saves and usage statistics; no AI is used while playing. The page shows no rating yet. Location is not stated.
