About Three Seconds
A short interactive fiction about a startup on the eve of launch. Four broke friends have built Echo, an app that can copy anyone's voice from three seconds of audio and speak live in phone calls. Its only safeguard is a consent check, and you have found a way to fool it; in the morning the team votes on whether to launch. You make choices through the night, and the developer asks first-time players to choose what they would really do. It takes about 15 minutes, is voice-acted and is best played with headphones. The game is about the ethics of an AI product, but it does not use AI while you play: the voices were generated in advance. The developer says the code and much of the story text were written with Claude from the developer's own premise, decisions and edits, and that the voices were generated with ElevenLabs. Free in the browser on itch.io; the page carries content warnings.
Content note: The developer's content warnings list phone scams that target parents and grandparents, money stress, illness (a stroke, throat cancer) and a short memory of being bullied. (itch.io)
How it was built
Partially verifiedThe itch.io page says the code and much of the story text were written with Claude (Anthropic), from the developer's premise, decisions and edits. No Claude product or model is named. The voices were generated with ElevenLabs, which is audio, not code. The itch.io AI disclosure ticks Code, Graphics, Sounds and Text; what was used for the graphics is not stated.
The developer set the premise, made the decisions and edited; Claude wrote the code and much of the story text. The game file is built on inkjs, the JavaScript runtime for Inkle's ink narrative scripting language, with the story compiled into the page. Voices were generated in advance with ElevenLabs.

“AI use: the code and much of the story text were written with Claude (Anthropic), from my premise, decisions and edits. The voices were generated with ElevenLabs.”Verification notes: AI use from the developer's own statement on the itch.io page; no devlog or independent source was found. The developer names Claude (Anthropic) without a product or model, so the tool is recorded as Claude. The page is written in the first person but does not say whether anyone else worked on the game, so team size and developer type are left undisclosed. Release date from the itch.io “Published” date (31 Oct 2026, 05:03 UTC). The ink engine was identified from the game file (inkjs runtime and compiled ink story), not from a developer statement. The theme is a voice-cloning app, but the game makes no calls to AI services: its voices are pre-generated audio, and the only mentions of OpenAI or Anthropic in the file are story text and cited references. The itch.io page shows no rating yet and has no Languages field; the page and the game file are in English (lang=en). Location is not stated.
