About Skyline Co-op
A free tower-building sim in the browser that takes SimTower's building and runs it on democratic socialism instead of rent. You are not the landlord but the steward the residents elected: you pour floors, place homes, co-op workspaces, canteens, a clinic and elevators, and hold the treasury in trust. Homes are allocated from a waitlist rather than sold, dues come in three bands that trade income against how many people you can house, and the score is the assembly's confidence, not profit. Every quarter the members vote on the works you propose, set mandates with deadlines, and can vote you out; overworked crews can strike, fires spread until the safety team contains them, and hostile neighbours try to undermine the co-op. A building that houses people well enough can win a science grant and an observatory on top. It is made by Intergalactic Robots, a small family-run app studio, as vanilla JavaScript with a canvas renderer; the source is on GitHub, with a signed Mac app. In a Show HN post about the game, the poster says they have been rebuilding old games with Claude; that this account is the studio's developer is likely but not stated outright.
How it was built
Partially verifiedThe Show HN post that launched the game says “I've been rebuilding old games with Claude”, and that the idea for this economy came while building a modern take on SimTower. The game page, the studio site and the README do not mention AI. The post does not say which Claude product was used, or how much of the code it wrote. The status stays unverified because nothing explicitly ties the Hacker News account to the studio (see verification notes).
- UnverifiedShow HN post (6 Aug 2026) by geekamongus, linking the game: “I've been rebuilding old games with Claude.” In replies the poster speaks as the maker (a Mac version to download, plans to optimise). — Hacker News (geekamongus)
- ObservedThe studio's About page says Will works as a cyber security director; the Hacker News profile reads “Software Security Director somewhere.” A match, not a confirmation. — Intergalactic Robots
Per the README, the game has no build step: vanilla JavaScript with canvas and WebAudio, split into simulation, assembly (votes, mandates, recall, labour), news ticker and renderer modules, and wrapped in Tauri v2 for the Mac app. The Show HN post says it came out of rebuilding old games with Claude. Music and ambience are Pixabay-licensed, except one track the developer made.

Verification notes: Game details from the game's own How to Play screen and its GitHub README (read from the raw file; the GitHub web page and API could not be opened from our environment, so the licence, star count and release files were not checked). The game's menu links the GitHub repository (user willc) and a Ko-fi page (willchatham); the README credits Intergalactic Robots. The only statement about AI is the Show HN post of 6 Aug 2026 by the Hacker News user geekamongus, which links the game and whose author answers comments as the maker. Nothing on the game, the README or the studio site names that account, so the link between the post and the studio is inferred: the Hacker News profile (“Software Security Director somewhere”) matches the studio's About page (Will works as a cyber security director), but this is circumstantial. For that reason the Claude claim is marked unverified and the developer is recorded as the studio, not a named person. The post had 41 points and 41 comments when checked on 3 Nov 2026 (observed; not a metric). The first public release date is not stated; the Show HN date is kept in history only. Other games on the studio site (Tank Wars, Heyzee) are separate and not covered here.
