About Wonder Atelier

A relaxed 2D crafting game about being a happy craftsman. You drag identical pieces from an endless supply onto the item in the centre of the screen to build it up, and you can make as many items as you like. Finished items can be collected or sold for coins, and coins buy treasures that you can display in a collection room. Sessions last a few minutes. The developer, Robin Noah, says they gave Codex very detailed instructions to generate the game and to fix it again and again. Free in the browser on itch.io with a mouse or touch screen, in English and Simplified Chinese; it was entered in AI Browser Game Jam 5.

The AI Tools Used answer on the jam submission says the developer gave very detailed instructions to Codex to generate the game and to fix it again and again. No Codex version or model is named, and the answer does not say whether the graphics, sound and text, which the itch.io AI disclosure also marks as AI-made, came from Codex or other tools.

Development approach

Made for AI Browser Game Jam 5 by prompting Codex with very detailed instructions to generate the game and then to fix it repeatedly, per the developer. The itch.io AI disclosure marks the code, graphics, sound and text as AI-assisted. The browser build is a single HTML file that draws on a 2D canvas, with no game framework identified (observed).

Verification notes: AI use from the AI Tools Used answer on the official AI Browser Game Jam 5 submission page, re-read on 5 Nov 2026; “Codex” is recorded as OpenAI Codex, which the answer does not spell out. The itch.io page itself has no AI statement beyond the itch.io AI disclosure (AI Assisted: Code, Graphics, Sounds, Text). No percentage is given, so no AI code share is recorded. Publication (22 Oct 2026, 22:09 UTC) and last update (29 Oct 2026, 22:11 UTC), the Puzzle genre, the session length, the mouse and touch inputs and the English and Simplified Chinese language field from the itch.io page, which carries the description in both languages. The engine is not named; the build is a single HTML file drawing on a 2D canvas (observed), and it makes no calls to AI services. The developer's itch.io account lists other games that were not checked, and no team size is stated. Jam voting was still open on 5 Nov 2026, so no placement is recorded; itch.io shows no public rating. The game was not played.
