About Moonlight & Mayhem
A raccoon heist game produced by giving OpenAI's Codex the exact prompt Simon Willison had used two days earlier for Raccoon Heist; two short follow-up prompts then fixed a rendering bug. He ran it in the Codex desktop app with GPT-5.6 Sol Ultra and wrote that it produced a significantly better result. The two games make a rare like-for-like comparison of coding agents on the same brief.
How it was built
VerifiedGenerated in the OpenAI Codex desktop app with GPT-5.6 Sol Ultra from the same prompt used for Raccoon Heist, plus two follow-up prompts to fix a rendering bug (oversized black spheres over the raccoons).
Same prompt as Raccoon Heist, run in a different coding agent to compare results; two follow-up prompts fixed a rendering bug. Textures were generated with OpenAI's gpt-image-2.
