Rights holder / original work: Twisted Metal (SingleTrac / Sony Interactive Entertainment)

A vehicular-combat game whose README describes it as a from-scratch reimplementation of the mechanics, physics and ballistics documented in tm1_decomp, an MIT-licensed matching decompilation of the 1995 PlayStation game Twisted Metal; the itch.io page is tagged “twisted-metal”. The README says no assets from the retail disc or the PC port are used and that all names, tables, meshes, sprites and sounds are original or generated at build time. No source mentions a licence from the rights holders. (Dmar3000 (itch.io))

VibeGameDB lists this game only to document that it was made with AI coding tools. We do not host it, we do not represent the rights holder, and listing it does not mean it is licensed.

About Asphalt Vendetta

A 3D vehicular-combat game for the Sega 32X add-on: up to six vehicles, human or CPU, drive around an arena shooting each other with machine guns and special weapons in a timed match, with a scoreboard of kills and deaths. There are 12 vehicles that differ in top speed, acceleration, handling, armour and mass, nine weapons in five ballistic classes, three arenas with props and pickups, four camera views, two-player play on two pads, three CPU difficulty levels (Training Wheels, Pro and Vendetta), rebindable controls (steering, the D-pad throttle and brake, and Start stay fixed) and three graphics profiles (Lean, Balanced, Full) trading effects for frame rate. The README describes it as a from-scratch reimplementation of the mechanics, physics and ballistics documented in tm1_decomp, Abel Briggs's MIT-licensed matching decompilation of SingleTrac's 1995 PlayStation game Twisted Metal (the itch.io page is tagged “twisted-metal”), and says every name, table, mesh, sprite and sound in the game is original or generated at build time (see the IP note). The page says “Vibe-coded by D-Mar The Daytripper” (Dmar3000 on itch.io) without naming the AI tool. A free 4 MB ROM for a flashcart or a 32X emulator.

How it was built

Partially verified

The itch.io page and README say “Vibe-coded by D-Mar The Daytripper”, and the page's AI disclosure ticks AI Assisted, Code, Graphics, Sounds and Text, but neither names the AI tool or model that wrote the code. The credits say the hardware documentation and the verification approach follow Haroldo-Ok's sega-32x-skill-for-claude; that is the only AI-related project named, and it is not credited with writing the code, so the tool is recorded as undisclosed. The developer's Blade Arena: Kengeki devlog says that game followed the same guidelines laid down for Asphalt Vendetta.

  • UnverifiedREADME credits: “Hardware documentation and the verification approach follow sega-32x-skill-for-claude.” It does not say Claude wrote the code. — Dmar3000 (itch.io)
Development approach

Retargets mechanics, physics and ballistics re-implemented from the tm1_decomp decompilation to real 32X-on-Genesis hardware as a 4 MiB cartridge. The 68000 boot and resident code derives from Chilly Willy's 32X support code by way of Daniel Monteiro's noudar-32x (BSD 2-Clause); the PWM mixer design is informed by Haroldo-Ok's tracker-player-32x, and the test harness is built against the PicoDrive emulator. The README lists measured frame rates of 21.47 fps (Lean), 21.20 fps (Balanced) and 18.53 fps (Full), noting that real rates vary by scene and hardware; a title-screen attract mode plays a real AI-against-AI match.

Verification notes: Credit, AI disclosure, features and licensing from the itch.io page (published 9 Oct 2026 12:30 UTC) and the README downloaded from it. AI tool: the page and README say only “Vibe-coded”; the Claude skill is credited for hardware documentation and the verification approach, not for the code, so no tool is named here. Language: the README lists C source files. Original game: the README calls the game a from-scratch reimplementation of the mechanics documented in tm1_decomp (credited as MIT, by Abel Briggs), and the page carries a “twisted-metal” tag; the tm1_decomp README describes it as a matching decompilation of the 1995 PlayStation game Twisted Metal (NTSC-J release) and credits SingleTrac with developing it. The README says all names, tables, meshes, sprites and sounds are original or generated at build time, but because the game logic is re-implemented from a decompilation of a commercial game's code (the README also compares values with the original, such as machine-gun rounds before overheating), an IP notice is attached, as for Blade Arena: Kengeki. A comment on the page from Radio PARALAX mentions a German-language video review without a link; it is not recorded. The rating was observed on the itch.io page on 4 Nov 2026 (UTC). No source code repository is linked. The ROM was not run.
