About Fanto's Mega-Mart
A fast 3D shopping-cart racing game set in a haunted supermarket. It took second place ($10,000) at the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of each game's code to be written by AI; in the official submission the developer, ecto, lists Codex as the tool. After the jam the game moved to Wavedash, where it was released on 30 September 2026 and is free to play. The Wavedash page promises millions of procedurally generated supermarkets, five game modes, monthly leaderboards and private lobbies for racing friends. The original jam address now sends players to Wavedash. Whether the post-jam updates were also written with Codex is not stated.
How it was built
Partially verifiedIn the official Vibe Jam 2026 submission the entrant lists Codex as the tool and answers Yes to the AI-written field. No devlog describes how Codex was used, and the submission covers the jam version only, not the later Wavedash release.
- OfficialJam rule 3: at least 90% of the code has to be written by AI. — Vibe Jam (Pieter Levels)
Built for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026 with Three.js, with Codex named as the tool. After the jam the developer kept working on it and moved it to the Wavedash game platform; the notice on the jam address says monthly maps, ghosts, stickers and multiplayer now live there, and the Wavedash page lists monthly leaderboards and private lobbies.

Verification notes: Tool (Codex), engine, genre and multiplayer flag from the entrant's own answers in the official Vibe Jam 2026 games data; rule 3 on the jam page requires at least 90% AI-written code. Second place and the $10,000 prize from the organizer's winners post (17 Jun 2026), which matches the Silver prize on the jam page and final rank 2 in the official data. The organizer's winners post credits the game to @e_c_t_o and links the jam address (the X profile itself could not be re-checked on 3 Nov 2026); that address now shows a notice sending players to Wavedash, whose page names ecto as developer and publisher and gives the 30 Sep 2026 release date and English as the language. The Wavedash version is a post-jam update; its AI-code share is not stated. The jam page's widget counter showed 1,413 plays on 3 Nov 2026 for the jam address (observed; sessions, not players). The developer's real name, location and team size were not found. No link to the rejected game “Dungeon Mart” was found; the records are separate.

- Jam prize total
- The Vibe Jam 2026 page says “$50,000+ total in cash prizes” in its prizes section but “$40,000 total” in its FAQ (help topic “prizes”); the gap matches the 12 special prizes of $1,000 each, which the $40,000 figure leaves out. The $10,000 second-place prize is the same in both places and in the winners post. (Vibe Jam (Pieter Levels), levels.io (Pieter Levels, organizer))
