About DigiFall Prototype

DigiFall Prototype is a small physics puzzle game in the browser. You click or tap the top of the screen to drop iron balls and dig down through underground blocks, which come in three hardness levels and get harder the deeper you go; destroying every block clears the stage. The score starts at 2,000 and drops with every ball you use, so fewer balls means a higher score. The Normal Ball digs three blocks straight down; the Drill Ball, unlocked once a third of the blocks are gone, digs six; and the Blast Ball, unlocked at half, explodes with a radius of three. Balls also react with each other: two Normal Balls colliding explode, a special ball meeting a Normal Ball has its effect strengthened by 1.5×, and special balls explode when they reach the floor while Normal Balls stay there. The developer, Izumain, says it is their first game, made with zero experience in game development or coding in about six hours by letting AI, named as “GPT-5.1 Plus plan”, write all of the code while the developer focused on the idea, rules and balance. Free on itch.io for PC and mobile browsers; the page is in English with a Japanese translation.

How it was built

Partially verified
ChatGPTPrimary

The itch.io page says the developer, with zero experience in game development or coding, created the entire game in about six hours by letting AI write all of the code, naming it as “GPT-5.1 Plus plan”, while the developer focused on the idea, rules and balance; the Japanese text says the same (AI(GPT-5.1 Plus plan)にコードを書かせて). The page does not mention ChatGPT or Codex by name; ChatGPT is recorded because GPT-5.1 on a Plus plan points to OpenAI's ChatGPT Plus subscription. The AI disclosure ticks AI Assisted, Code, Graphics and Text.

Development approach

The developer designed the idea, rules and balance while the AI wrote all of the code, per the itch.io page. The game is a single HTML page with its code inline (observed; the build checked is titled “DigiFall Prototype v22”). A copyright notice on the page reserves all rights to the game's assets, code and design, while welcoming screenshots, gameplay videos and links that point back to the page.

Verification notes: Gameplay, the AI statement, the build time and the supported devices from the itch.io page; publication (18 Nov 2025, 16:48 UTC) and last update (25 Nov 2025, 15:10 UTC) from the itch.io listing feed. The page names the AI only as “GPT-5.1 Plus plan”; we map this to ChatGPT, but the page does not say whether ChatGPT itself or another OpenAI product included in that plan was used. The 100% AI code share reflects the developer's “write all the code”; the page's AI disclosure also ticks Graphics and Text. The interface language was observed in the game build (v22) on 4 Nov 2026 (UTC); the build makes no calls to AI services (checked). Team size and location are not stated; the developer is not recorded as solo because the page only writes in the first person. The game had no itch.io ratings on 4 Nov 2026. The game was not played through.
