About Epic Space Battles

Epic Space Battles is a single-player sci-fi fleet auto-battler set in a war above Earth. Your fighters, bombers, carriers and capital ships fight on their own; you choose production, upgrades, one of four combat doctrines and when to use commander abilities, and an Infinite Mode keeps the war going. The developer, Adam Blue of BlueGamer Productions, says he used Claude Code and Codex to script the game in Godot, and the developer's Steam disclosure says generative AI helped with some assets and development code. It is a paid Windows game on Steam.

How it was built

Partially verified

The developer says he used Claude Code and Codex to script the game in Godot, after learning to use both on an earlier Gundam RTS. Most of the assets were made with Adobe Firefly, with Earth and Moon imagery from NASA. The developer's Steam disclosure says generative AI assisted with some assets and development code and that nothing is generated during play. The share of AI-written code is not stated.

Supporting evidence
  • DeveloperSteam AI disclosure: generative AI tools assisted with some game assets and development code; the game does not generate AI content during gameplay. No tool is named. — Steam
  • DeveloperThe studio site describes an in-house "Development Harness" that coordinates AI development workers such as Codex and Claude, with the studio in control of planning and validation. It does not say which games were made with it. — BlueGamer Productions
CodexSecondary

Named by the developer alongside Claude Code as one of the two tools used to script the game in Godot.

Development approach

Kept deliberately small, per the developer, after learning AI-assisted development on an earlier project. Game code scripted in Godot with Claude Code and Codex; most assets made with Adobe Firefly, plus NASA imagery of Earth and the Moon. AI-made content is pre-generated and reviewed; nothing is generated during play.

Verification notes: The tools come from a post by u/AdamBlue on r/aigamedev, read through a mirror snapshot captured 21 Aug 2026; the original reddit.com URL was not checked. The studio site bluegamerproductions.com (listed as the website on Steam) names Adam Blue as founder, links this Steam app and links an @AdamBlue YouTube channel, which ties the poster to the studio. The site's text was read from its JavaScript bundle because the page renders client-side. The developer's Steam AI disclosure confirms AI-assisted code but names no tool. Release date, price, platform and languages from the Steam store API; review count from the store page. The studio site describes the game as real-time strategy while the Steam page calls it an auto-battler; the Steam description is used here. Team size is not stated.
