About Kitty Kingdom

A tower-defence and kingdom-building game in which you only ever move the king. Robots have vacuumed King Whiskers' castle into rubble, and he must rebuild one cat at a time: stand still on a glowing spot to build archer-cat towers, catnip farms, cat cafés or fishing docks, and stand on numbered points to pick each building's upgrade branch. Houses, farms, mines and docks pay out each day; at night you ring the bell and robots march down the roads, led every tenth night by the MEGA-VAC 9000, while your towers, walls and cat squad hold the line and the king attacks on his own when you walk close. Hold out for 100 nights to win; the game saves at the start of each day. The developer, David Geisert (dg), who also hosted the jam, says Claude was used for nearly everything, including the art, code and sound effects, with Suno for the music. Made for Jamference: AI Game Jam Hack 1 (theme Cat and Robot, restriction Movement Input Only), where it ranked 4th overall and 1st for Fun. Free in the browser on itch.io, played with a keyboard.

How it was built

Asked how AI was used, the developer's jam answer reads: “I used Claude for most everything: Art, Code, SFX. Suno used for the music.” Which Claude product or model was used is not stated. The itch.io AI disclosure ticks Code, Graphics, Sounds and Text.

Verification notes: The AI use comes from the developer's answer on the official jam submission page, re-read on 5 Nov 2026; the jam's own rule (“AI must be part of the build”) is not code-specific, so it is not counted as evidence. “Most everything … Code” is not a share, so no AI code percentage is recorded. Team: the submission lists one member, David Geisert, and was submitted by the itch.io account dg, which also hosts the jam; a host entering the jam is recorded here as a fact, not a problem. Story, controls and rules from the itch.io page (status Released, genre Strategy, tag Tower Defense; last updated 8 Oct 2026, 08:29 UTC); itch.io shows no publication date or rating. The submission page said it was submitted 4 days and 19 hours before the 9 Oct 2026, 07:00 UTC deadline. Jam results (14 ratings): 4th overall (4.262), 1st in Fun, 3rd in Use of AI and 10th in Polish; 36 entries were submitted. In the comments the developer says the far-east towers were a late addition that was not tested properly. No calls to AI services were found in the game's build. The game was not played.

Development history

  1. Submitted to Jamference: AI Game Jam Hack 1 (theme Cat and Robot, restriction Movement Input Only), about 4 days and 19 hours before the deadline of 9 Oct, 07:00 UTC.

  2. Voting closes: 4th overall of 36 entries (14 ratings), 1st in Fun, 3rd in Use of AI.
