About Shoreshot
A pixel-art archery and village-building game in the browser. You build up a village on your island and then shoot arrows across the water to topple a rival's castle. The version made in one day for Jamference: AI Game Jam Hack 2 (theme Crafting, restriction Playable on Mobile) had real-time construction timers, an edit mode, arrows that fly with a fake 3D height, a bot opponent that dodges arrows and leads its shots, goblins with torches and dynamite, a matchmaking screen and saves. The developer has kept updating it since: on 6 Nov 2026 the itch.io page describes online PvP with quick matches against other players, a points leaderboard and friendly battles with friends; a village with a castle, woodcutter houses, an archery range, a temple with monks, a fortress, towers and a sheep pen; an adventure mode in which you raid goblin villages, collect gold and find lost sheep; Halloween decorations; and hats, pets and a cat that lives in your village. It plays with keyboard and mouse, a gamepad or touch, with a virtual joystick and drag-to-aim on a phone held sideways. The developer, Italo (korusagi on itch.io), designed and art-directed it and says Claude wrote 100% of the jam build's code, in HTML5 canvas and JavaScript with no engine, and translated the interface into 20 languages; the pixel art is the Tiny Swords asset pack by Pixel Frog. It ranked 7th of 37 entries. Free in the browser on itch.io, with a “Support the dev” button in the game; the page also links a Windows version on the Microsoft Store.
How it was built
Partially verifiedThe developer's jam answer: the whole game was built in one day as a conversation between the developer (game designer and art director) and Claude, “working as an AI developer with a real code sandbox”. It says Claude wrote 100% of the code (HTML5 canvas and JavaScript, no engine), including village building, construction timers, the edit mode, arrow physics, the bot and goblin AI, matchmaking and saves; ran the game in a headless browser, simulated whole matches and checked screenshots before handing over each build; measured frames, anchors and borders in the Tiny Swords sprite sheets, recoloured the enemy team and built the tilemap auto-tiling; composed the animated logo from the game's sprites and designed the pixel lettering glyph by glyph; and translated all interface text into 20 languages. The answer does not name a model or say whether the chat app or Claude Code was used, and covers the jam build; the sources do not say how the later updates were made.
- DeveloperThe itch.io page's AI disclosure ticks AI Assisted, Code and Sounds; the page itself does not describe how AI was used. — itch.io
- OfficialJam rule 1: AI must be part of the build. — itch.io (dg)
The jam build was made in one day: the developer directed the design and art and playtested, and Claude wrote the code in plain JavaScript on an HTML5 canvas, with no engine, and tested it in a headless browser. The pixel art is the Tiny Swords pack by Pixel Frog, a licensed asset pack credited on the jam page; the developer says it is human-made. No AI runs in the game. Since the jam the developer has posted updates from v1.3 to v1.8.0 and added online play through a Firebase realtime database with sign-in, and a payment link for the in-game support button.

“Code: 100% of the game's code (HTML5 canvas + JavaScript, no engine) was written by Claude from my design direction”Verification notes: AI use from the developer's answer on the official Jamference: AI Game Jam Hack 2 submission page; features, status (In development), genre (Strategy), inputs, multiplayer (server-based), languages field and AI disclosure (AI Assisted, Code, Sounds) from the itch.io page; both re-read on 6 Nov 2026. The 100% AI code share is the developer's own figure for the one-day jam build; the game has been updated many times since (devlog posts v1.3 to v1.8.0 between 18 and 24 Oct 2026, page updated 4 Nov 2026, 22:27 UTC), and the sources do not say how those updates were made. The jam's own rule (“AI must be part of the build”) is not code-specific. Team: the page says “Made by a solo dev · Korusagi Game Studio”; the jam team list names Korusagi (Italo) for design, art direction and playtesting, Claude as the AI developer, and the Tiny Swords pack. Same developer as Wind-up cat. Publication (16 Oct 2026, 15:54 UTC) from the itch.io page; the submission page said it was submitted 6 days and 14 hours before the 23 Oct, 07:00 UTC deadline. Jam results (8 ratings): 7th overall of 37 (3.708), 4th in Polish, 7th in Use of AI, 14th in Fun. The itch.io rating (5.0 from 2 ratings) was observed on 6 Nov 2026. The page also lists submissions to Game Gauntlet - SIM Jam and Playtest & Feedback Exchange Jam #9, which were not checked. The page links a Microsoft Store listing (Shoreshot by Korusagi game studio, observed) and a Google Play listing that returned “not found” on 6 Nov 2026; in the jam comments the developer says a Google Play release is being prepared. The Microsoft Store listing is not recorded as a platform here. The page and jam answer claim 20 interface languages; only the two on the itch.io languages field are recorded. The web build was checked for calls to AI services: it connects to Firebase (realtime database, sign-in and reCAPTCHA) for online play and to a payment worker, and makes no calls to AI services. The game was not played.
