About Moonwhisk

A small one-finger arcade game made for phones. You are the witch's black cat, dashing through a moonlit garden: hold and drag left or right (or use the arrow keys) to gather glowing herbs, worth one point each, and avoid the thorns and owls. The aim is a high score, and there is a leaderboard. It is credited to coddev (michael.jll) and BlockBros. Their AI Browser Game Jam 5 submission says an AI chat and coding assistant, which they do not name, wrote the game logic and the GDevelop event code, the scripts that draw the simple procedural art, the synthesized sound effects and the in-game text; the concept, theme, design decisions, testing and finishing were directed by coddev and BlockBros. Free in the browser on itch.io; it was entered in AI Browser Game Jam 5.

How it was built

Partially verified

The AI Browser Game Jam 5 submission says an AI chat and coding assistant (an LLM, not named) wrote the game logic and the GDevelop event code, the code-generated scripts that draw the procedural art (simple shapes, with no AI image models), the synthesized sound-effect tones and the in-game text. The concept, theme, design decisions, testing and finishing were directed by coddev and BlockBros. The itch.io page lists the same work under “AI-assisted” and says the entries were made “with help from an AI assistant”.

Supporting evidence
  • Developeritch.io page: “These entries (including Moonwhisk) were made by coddev & BlockBros with help from an AI assistant. AI-assisted: the game logic and GDevelop event code, the procedurally drawn art (…), the synthesized sound effects (code-generated tones), and the in-game text. Human-directed: the concepts, theme interpretation, design decisions, testing and finishing.” — itch.io
Development approach

Made in GDevelop for AI Browser Game Jam 5 (theme: Torch). Per the jam submission, an unnamed AI assistant wrote the game logic as GDevelop events, plus scripts that draw the art from simple shapes and generate the sound-effect tones in code; no AI image models were used. coddev and BlockBros chose the concept and theme and made the design decisions, testing and finishing. The game has a high-score leaderboard and a “playing now” counter; after another entrant reported that the counter sent requests every frame, the developer said it had been fixed.

Verification notes: AI use from the AI Tools Used answer on the official AI Browser Game Jam 5 submission page and the credits on the itch.io page, both re-read on 5 Nov 2026. The jam answer says the assistant wrote the game logic and event code; the itch.io page lists the same work as “AI-assisted”. No tool or model is named and no share is given, so the tool is recorded as undisclosed and no AI code share is recorded. The itch.io AI disclosure ticks Code and Text. Engine (GDevelop), genre, publication (26 Oct 2026, 05:30 UTC) and last update (29 Oct 2026, 03:07 UTC) from the itch.io page. The credits name coddev (michael.jll) and BlockBros; how many people that is is not stated. The leaderboard and “playing now” counter talk to a data-storage service; the build makes no calls to AI services. Jam voting was still open on 5 Nov 2026 (it ends on 7 Nov), so no placement is recorded; the submission page showed 5 jam ratings (observed; not recorded as a metric). itch.io shows no public rating. The game was not played.
