About Sconce
A 3D dungeon game in which your torch is the clock. Every zone of the cave you cross burns some of it, and you have to find the relics deep inside and carry them back up the stairs before the light runs out. Your first relic goes in your pocket and is yours whatever happens; everything after rides in your pack, and the pack stays in the dark if your torch dies out there, unless you are standing in a sconce's light, which the things in the dark will not enter. Lighting a sconce costs torch, and reaching one that is already burning warms your torch. As the torch burns down, eyes gather at the edge of the light, hands reach out of the rock and a heartbeat gets faster. There is a new cave every day, the same for everyone, a campaign of 24 levels in four chapters with stars to earn and the story of a keeper who went down to relight the deep sconces and did not come back, practice caves and three map settings from Charted to Uncharted. The developer, havocy28, credits Claude (Anthropic) with the game design, all of the code (three.js and Web Audio), the level design and balance simulations, the story text and all of the sound and music, which are synthesized in the browser; the 3D models are CC0 KayKit packs by Kay Lousberg. Free in the browser on itch.io, with keyboard or phone controls; it was entered in AI Browser Game Jam 5.
How it was built
Partially verifiedThe AI Tools Used answer on the official AI Browser Game Jam 5 submission page credits Claude (Anthropic) with the game design, all of the code (three.js and Web Audio), the level design and balance simulations, the story text and all of the sound and music, which are synthesized in the browser. It says the 3D models are not AI: they are the CC0 KayKit Dungeon Remastered and Character Pack: Adventures by Kay Lousberg. No model is named.
- Developeritch.io page, “Made with”: “Built with Claude (Anthropic) for the AI Browser Game Jam 5, theme: Torch. 3D with three.js.” — itch.io
Per the entrant's jam answer, Claude wrote all of the code in three.js and Web Audio, designed the game and its levels, ran balance simulations and wrote the story text; all sound and music are synthesized in the browser. The dungeon and character models are the CC0 KayKit Dungeon Remastered and KayKit Character Pack: Adventures by Kay Lousberg, and the fonts are Forum and Alegreya Sans (SIL Open Font License).

“Claude (Anthropic): game design, all of the code (three.js and WebAudio), level design and balance simulations, the story text, and all sound and music, which are synthesized in the browser.”Verification notes: AI use from the AI Tools Used answer on the official AI Browser Game Jam 5 submission page and the “Made with” note on the itch.io page, both re-read on 5 Nov 2026. The jam answer credits Claude with all of the code but gives no percentage, so no AI code share is recorded. The itch.io AI disclosure ticks Code, Sounds and Text. The KayKit models are CC0 packs by Kay Lousberg, credited on the page. Publication (23 Oct 2026, 00:15 UTC), the In development status, the modes and the controls from the itch.io page. Team size and location are not stated. The browser build uses three.js and makes no calls to AI services; an optional shared-light feature only looks for the data store of Claude's artifact runtime (window.claude db and user), which is not present on itch.io, so the feature is off there (observed; a jam commenter reported this and the developer said the wording was adjusted). Jam voting was still open on 5 Nov 2026, so no placement is recorded; itch.io shows no public rating. The game was not played.
