About CATROOMS

A short, narrated first-person horror walk of about six to ten minutes. On a Tuesday night the power goes out, only in your apartment; something starts scratching inside the living-room wall, then the wall has a door in it, and your cat Mango goes through as if she had been waiting for it. You follow her down corridors that go on too long, through your own apartment over and over, a little more wrong each time, and into places that stopped trying to look like anywhere. It plays with mouse and WASD or the arrow keys (Shift to run, click to use, right click or F for the torch, C for captions, M to mute), or with two on-screen sticks on a touch screen. The AI Tools Used answer on its jam submission credits Claude with the code, 3D models, script and textures, ChatGPT with images and some textures, ElevenLabs with the voice and some sounds, and Suno with the music. CATROOMS is by Focaccai, the host of AI Browser Game Jam 5, and was entered in the jam; it is free in the browser on itch.io and the page says it is made with the LittleJS engine.

How it was built

Partially verified
ClaudePrimary

The AI Tools Used answer on the AI Browser Game Jam 5 submission is a role list that credits “Claude - code, 3d models, script, textures”. Whether Claude was used in a chat app or through a coding tool, and which model, is not stated. The same answer credits ElevenLabs with the voice and some sounds and Suno with the music; neither is a tool we track.

Supporting evidence
  • OfficialJam rules: development must be heavily AI-assisted, with the majority of the game AI generated. — itch.io (Focaccai)
ChatGPTSecondary

Credited in the same jam answer with “images and some textures”; the sources do not say that ChatGPT wrote any of the game's code.

Development approach

Per the jam answer, Claude wrote the code and made the 3D models, the script and textures, ChatGPT made images and some textures, ElevenLabs the voice and some sounds, and Suno the music. The itch.io page says the game is made with the LittleJS engine, and the browser build identifies itself as LittleJS (observed); it is a first-person 3D walk with narration and captions.

Verification notes: Story, controls and length from the developer's itch.io page (published 30 Oct 2026, 04:26 UTC; updated 2 Nov 2026, 03:49 UTC; status Released; HTML5; genre Adventure); AI use from the AI Tools Used answer on the official AI Browser Game Jam 5 submission page, which is the only source that names the tools. Both were re-read on 5 Nov 2026. The same itch.io page is also entered in LittleJS Jam 3. The code credit is a short role line (“Claude - code”), so the evidence is a role credit rather than a description of how the game was made; it gives no share, so no AI code share is recorded. The itch.io AI disclosure ticks Code, Graphics, Sounds and Text. Focaccai is the host of AI Browser Game Jam 5 (the jam page names Focaccai as host), so this is the host's own entry; the submission page links a Twitter account, @focaccai. The music, voice and images were made before release; the game's scripts make no calls to AI services. The page sets no language field; the page, controls and captions setting are in English. Submissions closed on 31 Oct 2026 and voting runs until 7 Nov 2026 (04:00 UTC), so no placement is recorded. On 5 Nov the submission page showed 7 jam ratings (observed; jam votes, not players or reviews, so not recorded as a metric). The itch.io rating of 5.0 (1 rating) is from the itch.io page; itch.io shows no download count. The game was not played.
