About Coalheart
A short turn-based puzzle game in pixel art. The temple has gone cold, and you are a little coal creature with a flame on your head carrying the last of the fire down through its rooms to warm the Heart again. Torches never refill and every room holds exactly the fire it needs, so the order in which you take and spend it is the puzzle. Bumping a torch takes all of its fire, but you can only hold so much and anything past the brim is lost; lighting a brazier costs 3 and opens the gate that shares its rune, and burning away a bramble costs 2. If the fire you have left can no longer reach the stairs, the game tells you, and undo and restart are free. There are 15 rooms in three chapters (The Gatehouse, The Overgrown Hall and The Deep Sanctum), each with a par for the fewest moves. The solo developer, NeBITula, says the game was made with Claude Code under the developer's direction: the code, the pixel art and pixel fonts (drawn in code), the music and sound effects (synthesized in code) and much of the text were generated with it, then reviewed and shaped by the developer. Free in the browser on itch.io, with keyboard, mouse or touch; it was entered in AI Browser Game Jam 5.
How it was built
Partially verifiedThe AI disclosure on the itch.io page, repeated word for word in the jam submission, says the game was made with Claude Code under the developer's direction: the game's code, its pixel art and pixel fonts (drawn in code), its music and sound effects (synthesized in code) and much of its text were generated with it, then reviewed and shaped by the developer. The developer's itch.io profile describes generative AI as playing a major role across code, visuals and sound, alongside custom tools and procedural techniques.

A one-person project for AI Browser Game Jam 5 (theme: Torch). Claude Code generated the JavaScript game, the pixel art and pixel fonts, which are drawn in code, and the music and sound effects, which are synthesized in code, under the developer's direction; the developer reviewed and shaped the results. The developer's studio profile says its games use no bought, borrowed or downloaded assets. The browser build uses the LittleJS engine.

“Coalheart was made with Claude Code, Anthropic's AI coding assistant, under the developer's direction.”Verification notes: AI use from the AI disclosure on the itch.io page and the identical AI Tools Used answer on the official AI Browser Game Jam 5 submission page, both re-read on 4 Nov 2026. The statement says the code was generated with Claude Code and then reviewed and shaped by the developer; it gives no percentage, so no AI code share is recorded. Team size 1 from the developer's itch.io profile, which describes NeBITula Games as an independent one-person studio with a single developer handling everything. The engine is not named on the page: the browser build's script identifies itself as LittleJS Engine v1.20.0 (observed). Publication and last update (both 23 Oct 2026, 09:03 UTC), the English language field and the keyboard and mouse inputs from the itch.io page; the page also describes tap and swipe controls. The build makes no calls to AI services. Jam voting was still open on 4 Nov 2026, so no placement is recorded; itch.io shows no public rating. The game was not played.
