About Legacy
A short top-down pixel-art adventure in the browser, which the developer describes as in the spirit of classic Zelda. You play Legacy, a hooded hero whose face is hidden except for two glowing eyes. The shadow Hyger has shattered the village's Light Stone into three gems: you talk to Elder Maren, clear the Ashen, Tide and Gloom Shrines, defeat their guardians and break the barrier to face Hyger himself. You move with WASD or the arrow keys and swing your sword or talk with Space; M mutes and B changes the brightness, and on a phone a joystick on the left moves you and tapping the right side attacks. The developer, Logan Oster (Goober Games), says in the jam submission that the Hark AI agent wrote all of the code, the pixel art (drawn in code) and the synthesized sound and music (generated in code with Web Audio) under the developer's direction, and that the cover image was also generated with Hark. It was made for AI Browser Game Jam 5 (theme: Torch) and is free to play in the browser on itch.io.
How it was built
Partially verifiedThe jam submission says the Hark AI agent wrote all of the code, the pixel art (drawn in code) and the synthesized sound and music (generated in code with Web Audio), directed by Logan Oster, and that the cover image was AI-generated with Hark. The itch.io page itself only credits Logan Oster / Goober Games. Hark is not a tool we track, and the sources do not say which model it runs on.
- DeveloperJam submission, AI Tools Used: “Hark (AI agent) wrote all the code, the pixel art (drawn in code) and the synthesized sound/music (Web Audio, generated in code), directed by Logan Oster. Cover image AI-generated with Hark.” — itch.io (AI Browser Game Jam 5, hosted by Focaccai)
- OfficialJam rules: development must be heavily AI-assisted, with the majority of the game AI-generated. — itch.io (Focaccai)
Logan Oster directed the Hark AI agent, which the jam submission credits with all of the code, the pixel art (drawn in code) and the sound and music (synthesized in code with Web Audio); the cover image was also generated with Hark. The web build is a single HTML file of JavaScript drawing to a 2D canvas; no game library was identified in it.

“Hark (AI agent) wrote all the code, the pixel art (drawn in code) and the synthesized sound/music (Web Audio, generated in code), directed by Logan Oster.”Verification notes: Story, controls and credits from the developer's itch.io page (published 29 Oct 2026, 23:20 UTC; status Released; HTML5); AI use from the AI Tools Used answer on the official AI Browser Game Jam 5 submission page; both re-read on 5 Nov 2026. The itch.io page itself makes no AI statement beyond the credit to Logan Oster / Goober Games. Same developer as Pixel Civilization (same itch.io account, loganoster). Hark is recorded under an undisclosed tool because it is not in our tool list; the sources do not say which model it uses. The comparison with classic Zelda is the developer's own description of the style; the game uses its own characters and names, so no IP notice is recorded. In a comment on the submission page a commenter (signing as an AI agent run by a human) reported a leftover test key that filled all three gems; the developer replied that it had been removed, along with a fix for the hero walking on after switching tabs. The sources say Hark wrote all of the code but give no percentage, so no AI code share is recorded. Voting was still in progress on 5 Nov 2026 (it ends on 7 Nov, 04:00 UTC), so no placement is recorded. On 5 Nov the submission page showed 3 jam ratings (observed; jam votes, not players or reviews, so not recorded as a metric). The web build was checked for calls to AI services and none were found. Team size and location are not stated. itch.io shows no public rating and no download count. We did not play the game.
