About The Joy of Mining
The Joy of Mining is an open-world game about mining, looting, crafting, building, fighting and exploring, which its store page describes as inspired by Minecraft and Terraria. The world is randomly generated. Seven NPCs give quests, there are nine enemy types, two boss fights in two variations each, enchanted items, a slime pet, fishing and farming of wheat and animals, cosmetic upgrades, in-game achievements and three pre-installed texture packs. Seven arcade games can be played on slot machines inside the game. The developer's Steam AI disclosure says the code is written with AI, the text translations are made with AI and some textures are made with AI. A paid game on Steam for Windows, released 25 Sep 2025, in eight languages.

How it was built
Partially verifiedThe developer's Steam AI disclosure, in full: “Some textures are made with AI. Text translations are made with AI. Code is written with AI.” It names no tool and gives no share, and it does not say whether any of the code was written by hand.
Not described beyond the three-sentence Steam disclosure: the code is written with AI, the translations are made with AI and some textures are made with AI. No devlog was found; the game has no Steam news posts.

“Code is written with AI.”Verification notes: The AI claim rests on one source, the developer-written AI disclosure on the game's Steam page (re-read on 4 Nov 2026): “Some textures are made with AI. Text translations are made with AI. Code is written with AI.” The code sentence is not qualified (unlike “some textures”), but it names no tool and gives no share, so the tool is recorded as undisclosed. Features, the random world and the Minecraft/Terraria comparison come from the store description; the comparison is the developer's own, describes inspiration only and names no assets, so no IP notice is recorded. Whether the three pre-installed texture packs resemble any other game's textures was not checked. Release date, price, platform and the eight languages (all marked with full audio on Steam) from the Steam store API; the review count from the store page on 4 Nov 2026. The game has no Steam news posts; the YouTube channel and the subreddit r/TheJoyOfMining linked from Steam were not read (reddit refused the request). Nothing describes AI content generated during play.
