About Port Royal 1691

A single-player open-world destruction game in the browser, set in Port Royal, Jamaica, in 1691. As a pirate armed with ten weapons you wreck buildings, fight townspeople and turn the richest city in the Caribbean into chaos, as the official submission puts it. The game's script names the weapons: cutlass, boarding axe, flintlock pistol, musketoon, grenado, firepot, petard, powder barrel, rope noose and cannon; the on-screen controls also let you board a ship, mount a horse and fire a cannon, and the town includes Fort Charles, Fort James, Fort Rupert and St. Paul's Church. There is a short tutorial, achievements and a full map. The entrant gives a visit to the Caribbean as the inspiration. It was made for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of each game's code to be written by AI; the official submission lists Codex as the tool. It finished 76th of 945 entries. Free, on desktop with mouse and keyboard; the submission marks it as not mobile-ready.

Verification notes: Tool (Codex), engine, genre, pitch, inspiration and the multiplayer (No), mobile (No) and portal flags from the entrant's answers in the official Vibe Jam 2026 games data (submitted 29 Apr 2026, 17:04 UTC; final rank 76 of 945 entries, no award); rule 3 on the jam page requires at least 90% AI-written code. Developer: the game page names no one. The jam data gives the X handle yajmch, whose profile (display name Yannick Muller, location Palo Alto, CA; bio “AI Engineer | Ironman”) does not link the game, so the name rests on the handle alone. Team size is not stated. The weapon list, landmarks and controls come from the game's page and script. The game's modules talk only to the game's own analytics and error-report endpoints and the jam widget and portal; no calls to AI services were found. The jam page's widget counters showed 817 plays and 4,189 portal transfers for portroyal1691.vercel.app on 4 Nov 2026 (observed; sessions, not players or downloads, so not recorded as metrics). The release date is not stated; the jam submission is dated 29 Apr 2026.
