About Liberty Rampage
A short top-down action game in a night-time city grid. An alien beam brings Lady Liberty to life and the army opens fire; you hurl her flaming torch into the tank cordon, let the fire spread along the barricades and recall the torch to throw again. The torch flies straight, so buildings and barricades stop it, and the farther it is the longer it takes to come back; your own fire can burn you too. Burning barricades chain-react and drop salvage, which you spend between levels on upgrades such as Promethean Flame, Patina Armor, Hydraulic Actuators and a Lob Shot that arcs over walls. There are six levels, including objectives like burning down a command post and ambushing a supply convoy, enemy types from jammers and sappers to medics and the Warden boss, and a harder Gauntlet mode that unlocks once you win. The developer, vendatta77, says the grid and burn-the-barricades feel comes from Bomberman and similar arcade games. The credits say the code was written with Claude (Anthropic) and the images were generated with Google Gemini. Free in the browser on itch.io, on phone (on-screen stick) or desktop (keyboard and mouse); it was entered in AI Browser Game Jam 5.
How it was built
Partially verifiedThe credits on the itch.io page say “Code: written with Claude (Anthropic)”, with game design and direction by the developer; the AI Browser Game Jam 5 submission answers “claude for code.” No Claude model or app is named, and no share of the code is given. The sound is generated in the browser with Web Audio, so there are no audio files. The developer's itch.io profile says they make games with AI on a phone, with AI helping where their own skills fall short.
- DeveloperAI Browser Game Jam 5 submission, AI Tools Used: “claude for code. Gemini for image.” — itch.io (AI Browser Game Jam 5, hosted by Focaccai)
The images and art were generated with Google Gemini, per the itch.io credits and the jam submission. Not a coding tool; no Gemini model is named.
Made for AI Browser Game Jam 5 (theme: Torch). Per the credits, Claude wrote the code, Google Gemini generated the images and art, and the developer did the game design and direction; the sound is synthesized in the browser with Web Audio. The browser build is a single HTML file drawing on a Canvas 2D (observed). The developer's profile says they build their games on a phone, so most of them are small and simple. After another entrant said the game was hard to play on a computer, the developer replied that desktop controls had been left out at first.

“Code: written with Claude (Anthropic)”Verification notes: AI use from the credits on the itch.io page and the AI Tools Used answer on the official AI Browser Game Jam 5 submission page, both re-read on 5 Nov 2026. Both are short role credits (“Code: written with Claude (Anthropic)”, “claude for code.”); neither names a model or gives a share, so no AI code share is recorded. The itch.io AI disclosure ticks Code, Graphics, Sounds and Text. The credits spell the designer's name “vedatta77”; the account is vendatta77. The Bomberman comparison is the developer's own, from the page's “Inspiration” section; the game uses no Bomberman names or art. Gameplay, levels and controls from the itch.io page; publication date (20 Oct 2026, 08:22 UTC) from the same page. The developer's other jam entries (such as wolfpack) are separate games. The engine is not named; the build is a single HTML file using Canvas 2D (observed), and it makes no calls to AI services. Jam voting was still open on 5 Nov 2026 (it ends on 7 Nov), so no placement is recorded; the submission page showed 7 jam ratings (observed; not recorded as a metric). itch.io shows no public rating. The game was not played.
