Rights holder / original work: Mr. Boom (Remdy Software)
An unofficial homebrew port of Remdy Software's Mr. Boom, with its rules, level data, graphics, sound effects and music (the music is credited in Mr. Boom's source to several tracker musicians, per the JagBoom page). Mr. Boom is released under the MIT licence (© 2017 Remdy Software), and the developer states that Remdy authorised the port to follow the original closely; no statement from Remdy was found. It is not a Sega or Remdy Software product. (Dmar3000 (itch.io))

About Mr Boom 32X
A Bomberman-style arena game for the Sega 32X add-on, and a port rather than an original game. It brings Remdy Software's Mr. Boom to the 32X by way of JagBoom, the developer's own Atari Jaguar reimplementation of Mr. Boom, keeping its rules, CPU bombers, screens, converted original artwork, ProTracker music and match flow. Two to eight bombers compete, up to two of them human on Genesis pads and the rest CPU players at levels 0 to 8, across Mr. Boom's eight boards with their original scenery; there are bonuses and diseases, kicks, remote bombs, tri-bombs, kangaroos to ride, optional monsters, a two-minute round clock with sudden death, first to three wins, and an options screen to switch each of the 12 items on or off. The developer, D-Mar The Daytripper (Dmar3000 on itch.io), says it was vibe-ported with Haroldo-Ok's Sega 32X skill for Claude. It is a free ROM for a flashcart on real hardware or a 32X emulator; the page also keeps the older, separate version of the port.
How it was built
Partially verifiedThe itch.io page credits the port as “Vibe-Ported by D-Mar The Daytripper” with Haroldo-Ok's Sega 32X Skill for Claude and Chilly Willy's 32XDK; the page's AI disclosure ticks Code, Graphics, Sounds and Text. The game code comes from JagBoom, which its own page says was vibe-ported with Haroldo-Ok's Jaguar Skill for Claude. Which Claude product or model was used is not stated. The page is tagged “arena-ai” and its section links point to a page on arena.ai, and the developer's ReWipeout devlog describes working in conversations with Arena AI, so the Claude skill may have been run there; this is not stated for Mr Boom 32X.
- DeveloperJagBoom page: vibe-ported with Haroldo-Ok's Jaguar Skill for Claude; the developer read Mr. Boom's DOS assembly routine by routine and rewrote it rather than porting the PC code. — itch.io
The current build is a direct 32X port of JagBoom's C engine: according to the third-party notices, five JagBoom source files are byte-identical and the rest are adapted only where the Jaguar hardware differs, with the assets converted from JagBoom's level data and Mr. Boom's original PCX, WAV and MOD files. It is built with Chilly Willy's 32XDK on the standard 32X bootstrap code and uses a framebuffer shell and test harness adapted from Haroldo Okuno's HIT8OX-32X; sound on the slave SH-2 follows Doom 32X Resurrection's design. A devlog of 26 Oct 2026 says the port was redone from JagBoom's source after a chat with Remdy, and that the screen slows down when it gets busy because of the 32X's 256 KB of SDRAM.

Verification notes: Port credit and AI disclosure from the itch.io page (published 6 Oct 2026 15:38 UTC, updated 26 Oct 2026 03:19 UTC); build details from the page and the THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md file downloaded from it. The page says “Skill for Claude” without naming Claude Code or a model, so the tool is recorded as Claude. The rating was observed on the itch.io page on 4 Nov 2026 (UTC). Original game: the notices say Mr. Boom is © 2017 Remdy Software under the MIT licence (confirmed in the mrboom-libretro repository's LICENSE) and that the project owner states Remdy authorised the 32X effort to track the original closely; we found no statement from Remdy itself. The page calls it an unofficial homebrew port, not a Sega or Remdy Software product. The itch.io tags call it “bomberman”; Bomberman is a separate series that the page does not claim to use. No source code repository is linked. The ROM was not run.
