About Quasar Saz
A wave-based arcade shooter: an alien named Zara fights corrupted sound with a stringed instrument, the saz, across six waves and a boss. The design brief came from Momo, a small dog whose random keystrokes were fed to Claude Code, which was told to treat them as instructions from an eccentric designer and never dismiss them as gibberish. Claude Code wrote the code, drew the graphics procedurally and synthesized the audio, using tools to screenshot and playtest its own builds. Caleb Leak, who set up the system, published the untouched version (v1.0) and a version with human bug fixes (v1.1).
How it was built
VerifiedInterpreted the dog's keystrokes as design direction and wrote all the code, drew the graphics procedurally and synthesized the audio (README).
- DeveloperThe blog post describes the setup and the tools Claude Code used to screenshot, playtest and lint its own builds. — calebleak.com
Keystrokes from a Bluetooth keyboard passed through a filter to Claude Code, which treated them as a design brief with a minimum-requirements checklist and had tools to screenshot, playtest and lint the Godot project. The developer writes that "the bottleneck in AI-assisted development isn't the quality of your ideas - it's the quality of your feedback loops."
