About Null Range
A first-person space combat game in the browser. You pick a ship and a weapon loadout, enter a callsign and launch into a shared sector to fight other pilots, using sonar pings to find targets, boosting and firing missiles, and landing to spend the credits you earn on weapons and ship systems. The official submission pitches it as “first-person multiplayer space dogfighting” inspired by Elite: Dangerous. Developer Taylor Allen made it for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of each game's code to be written by AI, and lists Cursor as the tool in the submission. It won Cursor's “Best Art Direction” special award. The current build (V.1.04 on the start screen) still marks some ships and weapons as “Coming soon”, and the page invites players to join a mailing list for updates and play tests. Free, with no login; it also plays on phones held in landscape.
How it was built
VerifiedIn the official Vibe Jam 2026 submission the entrant lists Cursor as the tool and answers Yes to the AI-written field. No devlog describes how Cursor was used, which model was used inside it is not stated, and the submission covers the jam version only, not later updates.

Verification notes: Tool (Cursor), engine, genre, pitch, inspiration and the multiplayer and mobile flags from the entrant's answers in the official Vibe Jam 2026 games data (submitted 12 Apr 2026; final rank 4 of 945 entries); rule 3 on the jam page requires at least 90% AI-written code. Award from the official data and the organizer's winners post of 17 Jun 2026, which credits “Null Range by @taylor_sntx”. Developer name: the game page credits “Taylor” and links x.com/taylor_sntx (display name Taylor); that profile links taylorallen.co, a portfolio headed “Taylor Allen” that links back to the same X profile. Team size and the developer's location are not stated. The game's code only talks to its own game server, analytics and the jam widget; no calls to AI services were found. The in-game “credits” are an earned currency, not a real-money purchase. The jam page's widget counters showed 104 plays and 479 portal transfers for nullrange.com on 3 Nov 2026 (observed; plays are sessions, not players or downloads, so neither is recorded as a metric). The release date is not stated; the jam submission is dated 12 Apr 2026.
