About Panel Panic
Panel Panic is a retro-style puzzle game that the developer describes as a revival of the panel-flipping puzzle games of the 90s, harking back to the 16-bit era. You swap adjacent panels to line up three or more of the same colour, which then disappear; panels falling into the gaps can set off chain combos, and big combos drop garbage blocks on your opponent. You can play head-to-head on one screen or over a local network, online against other players, or against a computer opponent, and Steam also lists Remote Play Together. The developer's Steam AI disclosure says Claude Code was used to scaffold most of the game's Rust code, and that the art assets were made by prompting latent diffusion models with hand-drawn sketches and text prompts. A paid game on Steam for Windows, macOS and Linux, released 30 Jul 2026, in English; the game's website, panel-panic.com, also loads a browser build.

How it was built
Partially verifiedThe developer's Steam AI disclosure says Claude Code was used to scaffold most of the game's Rust code. It does not say how much of that code was later changed or written by hand, or which model was used. The same disclosure says the art assets were built by prompting latent diffusion models with hand-drawn sketches and text prompts; no image tool is named.
Per the Steam disclosure, Claude Code scaffolded most of the Rust code, and the art was generated with latent diffusion models from the developer's hand-drawn sketches and text prompts. The browser build on panel-panic.com loads through macroquad's JavaScript bundle and a macroquad gamepad plugin, which suggests the game uses the macroquad Rust framework; the developer does not say so.

“Claude Code was used to scaffold most of the Rust code for this game, and the art assets were built from prompting latent diffusion models with human hand drawn sketches and text prompts.”Verification notes: The AI claim rests on the developer-written AI disclosure on the game's Steam page (re-read on 4 Nov 2026): Claude Code was used to scaffold most of the Rust code. Scaffolding means generating the starting code, and the disclosure does not say how much of the shipped code is still AI-written, so the game is classed as AI-assisted rather than vibe-coded. The computer opponent is ordinary game AI. Steam lists panel-panic.com as the game's website; on 4 Nov 2026 it served only a loading screen and the game's WebAssembly build (loaded with macroquad's JavaScript bundle), with no developer name and no link to Steam, so the web listing is recorded as unverified. dugames.org, listed on Steam as a developer, showed one 2022 post about a VR game. Release date, price, platforms and the single language (English) from the Steam store API; the store page showed no user reviews on 4 Nov 2026, so no review figures are recorded. Team size and location are not stated.
