About Squishy & Friends
A free sliding puzzle for the browser and iPhone. You swipe to send small squishy characters gliding across the board until they hit something; they bounce off springs, slide over ice and pass through portals, and the level is solved when every one has landed on a heart. Each level has a par, with an undo button and an optional hint bulb, and there is a daily puzzle, a set of 50 levels plus an endless ladder, a Zen mode with no stars or targets, and an editor for making levels and sharing them by link. It works offline, shows no ads and needs no account; the only data it sends is an anonymous play count that can be switched off. The iOS version was released on the App Store on 17 June 2026. The developer, Franz Enzenhofer, posted it on Hacker News as “Claude Fabel 5 coded a game and it is good”, and writes that the game logic and engine are by “Claude Fabel 5”, while the visual design came from Claude's design tool with Opus 4.8.
How it was built
Partially verifiedThe developer's Show HN post is titled “Squishy & Friends – Claude Fabel 5 coded a game and it is good”. In a comment on it the developer writes that the game logic and engine are “Claude Fabel 5”, and that the design is from Claude.ai/Design with Opus 4.8, because “Fable 5 did not give good designs in this case.” “Claude Fabel 5” is the developer's spelling and is kept as written. The post does not say how much of the code was written by hand, if any.

Per the developer, the game logic and engine were written by Claude (“Claude Fabel 5”), while the visual design was done with Claude's design tool using Opus 4.8 after the first model's designs did not satisfy the developer. The web version is a single-page JavaScript app that also ships as an iOS app with the same name.

“Game Logic and Engine is Claude Fabel 5”Verification notes: AI use from the Show HN post of 12 Jun 2026 by the Hacker News user franze and the poster's own comment in that thread. App Store seller, release date (17 Jun 2026), version (1.0.37, 25 Jun 2026), languages (English) and the description (50 levels plus an endless ladder, daily puzzle, editor, no ads or accounts) from the US App Store page and Apple's lookup data; Zen mode, sharing and the privacy statement from the web version. The link between the Hacker News account and Franz Enzenhofer rests on a name and domain match: the profile links twitter.com/enzenhofer, the post links squishy.franzai.com, and the App Store listing by seller Franz Enzenhofer gives that same site as its developer website. “Claude Fabel 5” is quoted as the developer wrote it (the same comment also writes “Fable 5”); no model version is recorded beyond the quote. The web version was public by the Show HN date, five days before the App Store release; its own launch date is not stated, so the game's release date is left blank. Team size and location are not stated. The App Store showed no ratings on 3 Nov 2026 (observed; there is no App Store rating metric). The post had 5 points and 3 comments on 3 Nov 2026 (observed; not a metric).
