About TURN LEFT!
TURN LEFT! is a one-button stock car racing game that runs in the browser. Seen from above in an NES-style look, your car laps an oval: hold to dive to the inside, release to drift up the track. The speed increases every lap, bumping other cars spins you out and hitting the wall ends the run, so the in-game coaching keeps telling you to use short taps rather than long holds. Runs go on a leaderboard with your initials, including a board of the day's leaders. The developer wanted something immediately playable with basically no instructions, to open, play for a few minutes and come back to later; it can also be saved to a phone's home screen as a web app. The developer, posting on Hacker News, says the game was built over a few weeks and that 100% of the code was written by Fable 5 (Claude Fable 5), while the developer tweaked a fair amount of the graphics by hand. It is published by SwiftBlue, LLC, a small product studio in Boston. Free, no download.
How it was built
Partially verifiedThe Show HN post says: “I built this mostly with Fable 5 over the course of a few weeks. I had to tweak a fair amount of the graphics to get them where I wanted, but 100% of the code was written by Fable 5.” Fable 5 is an Anthropic Claude model; the developer names only the model, not whether Claude Code or the Claude apps were used, so the record uses Claude. The graphics were partly reworked by hand.
Built over a few weeks, per the developer, with the code written by Fable 5 and a fair amount of the graphics tweaked by hand. The game is a single web page with its script inline and a small server API for runs and the leaderboard; it uses PostHog analytics. The goal was a simple top-down retro racer that is playable at once with basically no instructions.

“I had to tweak a fair amount of the graphics to get them where I wanted, but 100% of the code was written by Fable 5.”Verification notes: The AI claim and the few weeks come from the Show HN post of 19 Aug 2026 (19:16 UTC, user dberube): “100% of the code was written by Fable 5”, recorded as the developer's own share. The tool is recorded as Claude because only the model is named. The link between dberube and SwiftBlue rests on the post linking turnleft.app, the game's logo linking swiftblue.com and SwiftBlue's site listing the game as one of its live products; the studio's site does not name its people and calls itself a small team, so no team size is recorded. Location from the studio site (“Made in Boston”). Gameplay comes from the page's meta description and the in-game texts in its script, read on 4 Nov 2026. The script talks to its own API (runs, scores, leaderboard), PostHog analytics and a subdomain of the site; no calls to AI services were found. The Show HN post is the earliest dated mention found, so no release date is recorded. The game was not played through.
