Drift Fever
A one-file browser drift game scored on angle and on how close to the edge you hold the slide, with a new road every day for everyone and a ghost of your last run to beat. Made with Claude Opus 5 through chats and Claude Code, the developer says.

About Drift Fever
Drift Fever is a free drift game that runs in the browser as a single file, with nothing to download or install. Everybody drives the same road each day and gets a new one the next; you can also switch to a random track, which has no finish and no ghost. Runs are scored on drift angle and on how close to the edge you dare hold the slide, with extra points for landing sideways after jumps, and the edges damage the car; a clean run is the one that counts, and each run becomes the ghost you chase next time. A short training run, which can be skipped, opens the game, new cars unlock as you go, and on a phone you can steer by tilting. The sound effects are synthesized in the game, and the music is four recorded tracks. It comes from Nate's one-person SnapHit Studios, which also made Hurtle. Posting it on Hacker News, the developer says it was made entirely with Claude Opus 5 in the mobile Claude app, through a combination of chats and Claude Code, and that the music was made with Gemini for the lyrics and Mureka for the generation. Free, no ads, no login.
How it was built
Partially verifiedThe Show HN post says: “Made entirely with Claude Opus 5 on the mobile Claude app through a combination of chats and Claude Code.” Comments in the shipped game file refer to rules in a CLAUDE.md file. The developer does not say which parts came from Claude Code and which from chats.
Chats with Claude Opus 5 in the mobile Claude app, alongside Claude Code, per the same Show HN post. For the music the developer used Google's Gemini for the lyrics and Mureka for the generation.
Made in the mobile Claude app with Claude Opus 5, through chats and Claude Code, per the developer. The game is a single HTML file whose comments set out the project's rules, some of them from CLAUDE.md; the sound effects are synthesized from oscillators and a generated noise buffer, and the music is four recorded tracks loaded beside the file. Each day's road is generated from a seed shared by every player.

“Made entirely with Claude Opus 5 on the mobile Claude app through a combination of chats and Claude Code.”Verification notes: The AI claim comes from the Show HN post of 12 Aug 2026 (18:15 UTC) by novlrdotcom, the same Hacker News account that posted Hurtle: Claude Opus 5 in the mobile Claude app, chats and Claude Code. Both tools are recorded because the developer names both. The game file's comments cite CLAUDE.md rules. The page credits SnapHit Studios and links its site, whose game list (in the page script) includes Drift Fever; the studio calls itself a one-person game studio, which is what team size 1 rests on. Gameplay, the daily road, ghosts, training run, tilt control and audio come from the game file read on 4 Nov 2026; the game was not played through. The site also hosts guide pages named after other browser games (Drift Hunters, Drift Boss and “unblocked games”); they state that they are not those games, name and link the originals, and offer Drift Fever as an alternative. The game does not use those names, so no IP notice is recorded. No calls to AI services were found in the file. The Show HN post is the earliest dated mention found, so no release date is recorded. Location is not stated.

- Soundtrack
- The Show HN post says the music was made with Gemini (lyrics) and Mureka (generation) and adds “5 tracks a day, forever”. The game file checked on 4 Nov 2026 plays four recorded music tracks in a fixed order, while its comments say every player gets the same five roads each day (“two devices on the same date get the same five roads”), so the phrase may refer to the daily roads rather than to the music.
