About Alien Abducto-rama
A free arcade game for desktop browsers. You pilot a UFO and beam up humans, cows, cats, dogs and sheep for points, wave after wave, while tanks shoot back. Between waves you spend “UFO bucks” in a UFO Shopping Mall on power-ups; later additions, per the developer and the changelog on the title screen, include bombs, laser turrets, a dodge move called the “warp juke”, a top-100 global leaderboard, a tech tree, drone fleets and missile salvos. Players can submit and upvote feature requests from inside the game. It needs a computer and a keyboard: on a phone the page only shows a notice asking you to visit on a computer. The game was made over the 2025–26 holiday break by Michael Felix and two daughters, then 6 and 8, according to the developer's Show HN post: the children drew all the art, while the developer talked to Claude Code to scaffold the game logic, and the children also talked to Claude Code directly by voice dictation, the older one asking for a “purpler” tractor beam. It is listed on the developer's studio page as a one-player desktop game built with the developer's kids.
How it was built
Partially verifiedIn the Show HN post the developer says the children drew all the art while the developer talked to Claude Code to scaffold the game logic. The developer describes the children using voice dictation to talk to Claude Code directly; the 8-year-old asked for a “purpler” tractor beam and watched it change. Features added after that (shop, weapons, leaderboard) were, per the post, a way to put in reps with AI coding tools and try out new things such as Gastown. The post does not say how much of the code Claude Code wrote.

- ObservedThe developer's homepage links “Three Kind Words”, one of the developer's projects; this name match is the only thing tying the Hacker News account threekindwords to Michael Felix. — Michael Felix
A family project, per the Show HN post: the two children drew all the art and described what they wanted, the developer scaffolded the game logic by talking to Claude Code, and the children tested the results and asked for changes. The game is plain JavaScript loaded as script files, with the art as image assets. After the post the developer kept adding features and logging them in a changelog shown on the title screen (entries from 16 Jan to 19 Feb 2026 when checked).

“They drew all the art while I talked to Claude Code to scaffold the game logic.”Verification notes: AI use, the team of three, the holiday-break timing and the feature list from the Show HN post of 24 Jan 2026 by the Hacker News user threekindwords, which links the game. The game page (meta author mfelix.org) and the developer's studio page list the game as built with the developer's kids, and the studio page names Michael Felix of Goochland, Virginia. The Hacker News profile is blank, so the link between that account and Michael Felix rests on a project-name match: “Three Kind Words” is a project linked from mfelix.org. The post's description of a game built with two daughters matches the studio page's “built with my kids”. The children are minors and are not named. Later features (tech tree, drones, missiles) from the game's own changelog file (js/changelog.js), observed on 3 Nov 2026. The phone notice was observed on the game page. alien-abductorama.com, linked from the game page, could not be opened from our environment and is not recorded as a listing. The post had 6 points and 1 comment on 3 Nov 2026 (observed; not a metric). No release date is stated; the game was public by the Show HN date.
