About Color Cup Racing

Color Cup Racing is a marble racing game with up to 30 marbles per race, 18 themed tracks, broadcast-style presentation and dynamic weather. You can watch the simulation, place fake-coin predictions, or drive your own custom marble through a five-season Career Mode. The developer, posting on r/aigamedev as u/Matthewmarra3 on launch day, says he built it in three.js primarily with Codex and Claude Code, moving almost entirely to Claude Code later in development. He also used many open-source textures and 3D models. It is a paid game on Steam for Windows and Linux.

How it was built

Partially verified

The developer says he started with Codex and Claude Code on the $20/month plans, then moved almost exclusively to Claude Code, using the Fable 5 and Opus 4.8 models on the $100/month plan and finally the $200/month Max plan. He turned working implementation patterns into reusable agent skills and kept useful context in memory. The developer's Steam disclosure mentions AI "development support" and names no tool.

Used together with Claude Code at the start of development, per the developer, before he moved almost entirely to Claude Code.

Development approach

Started in May 2026 as a tool for recording marble-race videos, set aside, then restarted and expanded into a full game, per the developer. Built in three.js with many open-source textures and 3D models. The developer saved working implementation patterns as agent skills to reuse later.

Verification notes: The tools come from a post by u/Matthewmarra3 on r/aigamedev, read through a mirror snapshot captured 14 Aug 2026 (the Steam release day); the original reddit.com URL was not checked. The post says "I shipped my first Steam game today" and links this Steam app, whose developer and publisher are listed as Matthew Marra. The username matching the Steam developer name and the launch-day timing are the only ties: the Steam page lists no website and we found no developer-owned page linking the account. The developer's Steam AI disclosure mentions AI development support but names no tool. Release date, price, platforms and language from the Steam store API. Steam showed no user reviews on 3 Nov 2026. The post does not say whether anyone else worked on the game, so team size is left undisclosed.
