About Drawn to Orbit

An arcade game about drawing things into orbit. You draw a flight path for a planet, moon or star and it follows your line around a central body: a short, fast stroke makes a quick shot, while a slower one can be timed to slip between bodies already circling. Every new object crowds the space, so a tidy system can turn chaotic after one mistimed stroke. Besides Classic score runs there are Orbit, Protect (defend the centre from incoming bodies) and Deflect (push danger away with a gravity field by touching the screen), a harder Black Hole mode, a calmer Zen mode for building at your own pace, and two-player play on one screen. Classic Orbit is free; extra modes, themes and trails are optional one-time purchases, with no subscriptions. In a post on r/aigamedev that links the listing, its author calls it a vibe-coded app made with a mix of Codex and Claude Code, which they say review each other's code, and says it took maybe a month or so.

How it was built

Partially verified
CodexPrimary

In a post on r/aigamedev that links this App Store listing, u/sarm333 calls it “my vibe coded app” and says it was created using a mix of Codex and Claude Code, which complement each other so that “you have two models to review each other’s code”. The poster's main tip is to explain exactly how a mechanic should be implemented, including edge cases, rather than giving a generic prompt. How the work was split between the tools is not stated.

Named together with Codex as one of the two tools the game was made with, each used to review the other's code, per the same r/aigamedev post.

Development approach

Vibe-coded with Codex and Claude Code working side by side, each reviewing the other's code, per the poster, who says detailed descriptions of how each mechanic should work, edge cases included, gave much better results than generic prompts. The app was renamed before release because the first name clashed with another app. Later updates added iPad landscape support and layouts for foldable iPhones (App Store version history).

Verification notes: AI use and development time come only from a post by u/sarm333 on r/aigamedev (read through a reddit.sentinel-team.org snapshot captured 3 Jul 2026; the original reddit.com URL was not checked), which links this app (UK store address, same app ID). The tie between the Reddit poster and App Store seller Srana Boonlertuthai is not formally confirmed: the post links the listing and calls it “my vibe coded app”, but the listing has no developer website and no developer page names the Reddit account. The post says an earlier post used a different name, which clashed with another app; that earlier name was not found. Modes, prices, release date (2 Jul 2026), versions, privacy statement and the English language field from the US App Store listing and Apple's lookup data. The App Store showed no ratings on 3 Nov 2026. Team size is not stated. No source mentions generative AI running in the game.

Development history

  1. Released on the App Store, after being renamed because its first name clashed with another app.

  2. Announced on r/aigamedev by u/sarm333 as a vibe-coded app made with Codex and Claude Code.

  3. Version 1.0.1 fixes a crackling sound in some soundtracks.

  4. Version 1.1.0 adds iPad landscape support and layouts for the inner and outer displays of foldable iPhones (“iPhone Duo” in the notes).

Each figure measures something different — concurrent players, owners, downloads and sales are never interchangeable and are never added together. Labels show where each number comes from.
