About Everdeep Idle
Everdeep Idle is an idle action RPG in a dark-fantasy setting, born from the developer's long love of ARPGs. Combat runs on its own; the game is in the build. At full release it has seven classes (Warrior, Ranger, Sorceress, Rogue, Cleric, Warlock and Shaman), skills reshaped by augments, randomised loot with Uniques, Sets and Artifacts, and crafting that can improve an item or destroy it. You set up loadouts that swap for farming and bosses, triggers that fire skills when conditions are met, and queues of runs that keep going while you are away, with offline progress estimated from your build. Arcade mode is the faster pace; Epoch is slower, with Ascendancy paths. The developer, a DevOps engineer making a first game, says Claude Code turned years of notes, spreadsheets and half-finished C and Python code into one HTML/JavaScript game, while the systems and design were the developer's own. It is a paid Windows game on Steam (full release 30 Oct 2026, after a free demo), and a free browser version is on itch.io.

How it was built
Partially verifiedIn a post on r/aigamedev the developer says they fed Claude Code nearly everything they had (spreadsheets, notes, code snippets and half-finished attempts in C and Python) piece by piece, and Claude Code converted it into a single HTML/JavaScript file with all the systems working together, which the developer then iterated on and packaged with Electron for Steam. The developer says all systems and gameplay were designed by them and that AI gave them the framework and the time to finish. The Steam disclosure says only that AI tools assisted with coding and some supporting visual assets; how much of the code AI wrote is not stated.
The developer says years of design notes, spreadsheets and prototype code in several languages were handed to Claude Code piece by piece and converted into one HTML/JavaScript file, which the developer then iterated on and packaged with Electron for the Steam release. The browser build on itch.io is a single large HTML file that loads the Phaser 3 game framework (observed). Development continued through a Steam demo (from 20 Sep 2026) to the 1.0 release, which added a seventh class.

“I was able to feed Claude code essentially everything I had, piece by piece and convert it all into a monolith file that had every complex system I'd ever dreamed up all working together.”Verification notes: Claude Code from the developer's post on r/aigamedev (u/TirOrin13), read through a mirror snapshot captured 29 Jul 2026 (the original reddit.com URL was not checked). The post links the game's site, itch.io page and Steam page and says the Steam page went live that day; no developer page links back to the Reddit account. The Steam and itch.io disclosures, on the developer's own pages, confirm AI help with code but use the milder “assisted” and name no tool. The post calls this the developer's first game. Team size is not stated; the developer writes in the first person. Classes: the official site and itch.io page still describe four, the Steam page six, and the 1.0 announcement seven (with Shaman). Release date, price, demo and languages from the Steam store API (the store shows 30 Oct 2026; the 1.0 announcement went out early on 31 Oct UTC, the date the developer had announced); review figures from the store page. The itch.io page does not show when it was first published; its earliest comments are about 120 days old, so the browser version was public by early July 2026 and the first release date stays unknown. The browser build was checked for calls to AI services and none were found. A Google Play version (com.everdeepidle.app), linked from the official site and the itch.io page, is not listed because Google Play is not a platform we track; the July post said it was in closed testing.
