About Genome Dominion
A programming strategy game in the browser. You build a virus's genome from up to 12 commands, such as Move, Turn Left, Eat, Clone, Dash, Lay Egg, Spit Acid and conditions like If Foe and If Open; the genome runs from top to bottom and then loops. Your virus then fights an opponent's virus in a dish for 20 seconds under a microscope view, and whichever virus has painted more of the dish wins; a win is worth Elo on a public leaderboard. You can keep five viruses in a database, start from a random “surprise genome” and tweak it between fights, and play as a guest or lock your name with a password. The page is titled Genome Dominion; the jam entry was submitted as Virus Game. It was made for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of each game's code to be written by AI; the official submission lists Claude Code as the tool. It finished 403rd of 945 entries. Free in the browser.

Team size is not stated. Commands, the 20-second match, Elo and the virus database come from the game page and its script; the game was not played, and the sources do not say whether opponents' viruses are other players' saved designs. The game's code talks only to its own server; the viruses are programmed by the player, and no calls to AI services were found. The release date is not stated; the jam submission is dated 1 May 2026.
