Towers of Aurum
A free co-op tower defence game in the browser: up to four players each hold a gate on one long shared road, and a leak anywhere hurts the whole team. The developer says Claude Code wrote basically all the code.
Official site towersofaurum.com, verified Nov 3, 2026. Linked in all of the developer's Reddit posts about the game; the site's structured data names r/Towers_of_Aurum, the subreddit the developer cites, as the game's community.
Rights holder / original work: Warcraft III custom tower defence maps such as Green TD (Warcraft III: Blizzard Entertainment)
The developer calls the game a remake and a rebuild from scratch of the Warcraft 3 custom tower defence maps they grew up on, such as Green TD, and the site describes it as being in the spirit of the Warcraft III tower defense maps. Its factions, towers, story and enemy have their own names, and per the developer every tower, creep, skin and texture is drawn by code, with no generated images. The game's main code bundle (checked 4 Nov 2026) describes it as made in the spirit of the Warcraft III tower defense maps and as an original game not made by or connected with Blizzard Entertainment; we did not find Warcraft names such as Azeroth or Arthas in it. No source mentions a licence from the authors of the maps. (Reddit (u/vidiclol))
VibeGameDB lists this game only to document that it was made with AI coding tools. We do not host it, we do not represent the rights holder, and listing it does not mean it is licensed.

About Towers of Aurum
Towers of Aurum is a free co-op tower defence game that runs in the browser, playable as a guest with no sign-up. Up to four players each hold a gate, the creeps walk one long road past everyone, and a leak anywhere hurts the whole team; bots hold any empty gate, so you can also play alone. You pick one of four factions, the Oni, Ronin, Kitsune or Shrine, each with its own towers and one rule that changes how it plays, and keep the Hollow away from the last ember. There are a Story Mode in which each faction crosses the world back home, Quick Runs of 10 waves (about ten minutes), Endless and 4v4 Ranked, as well as weekly challenges with leaderboards, world and party chat and a phone version. The developer says the game has 40 towers and about 72,000 words of lore, and that nothing you can buy makes a tower stronger: skins only change the look. The developer calls it a remake of the Warcraft 3 custom tower defence maps they grew up on, such as Green TD, rebuilt from scratch, and says they set the design and the rules while Claude Code wrote basically all the code, on raw WebGPU with no engine, with every model and texture drawn by seeded code.
How it was built
Partially verifiedIn a post on r/ClaudeAI (4 Nov 2026, UTC) the developer writes: “I set the design and the rules, Claude Code wrote basically all the code.” The post describes the setup: a CLAUDE.md with hard rules for the deterministic multiplayer simulation (no Math.random, no Date, only a seeded random and fixed maths), enforced by a custom lint rule and a determinism test that replays 28 recorded games in Node, Bun, Chrome, Safari's engine and Firefox; three or four agents working in parallel, each in its own git worktree with a written brief, committing but never pushing; reviewer agents, including a QA agent that drove a real browser with Playwright; screenshot scripts so Claude checks its own UI work; bots that play many runs to tune difficulty; and a written voice guide to rewrite text that players said read like AI. The developer warns that Claude will say “done” on something it never saw running. No model is named.
- DeveloperLaunch post on r/ClaudeAI (22 Oct 2026): the second game the developer has built with Claude; Claude Code did the heavy lifting on the engine, the multiplayer, the balancing and testing, and the art, all drawn by code. — Reddit (u/vidiclol)
- DeveloperPost on r/ClaudeAI (1 Nov 2026): 369 changes pushed since launch, “all built with Claude Code”. — Reddit (u/vidiclol)
Per the developer, they set the vision, the design and the rules and Claude Code builds it, with hard rules in CLAUDE.md, tests that enforce them, parallel agents in separate git worktrees, agents as designers and QA, screenshot checks and bot play-testing for balance. The developer gives the stack as raw WebGPU with no engine, Preact, and Cloudflare Workers and Durable Objects for the multiplayer, with every model and texture drawn by seeded code; the simulation is deterministic so every player's game runs the same, and the server runs its own copy of every match.

Verification notes: AI use comes from the developer's posts by u/vidiclol on r/ClaudeAI (22 Oct 2026, 05:47 UTC; 1 Nov 2026, 02:01 UTC; 4 Nov 2026, 10:06 UTC) and the follow-up of 29 Oct 2026, read from the Arctic Shift Reddit archive because reddit.com did not answer our checks; the developer also posted about it on r/ClaudeCode, r/ClaudeGameDev and r/vibecoding. Modes, factions, tower and lore counts, the stack and the workflow come from those posts; the site (checked 4 Nov 2026) confirms the four factions, co-op for up to four players and the Warcraft III comparison. The game itself loads only with JavaScript and WebGPU and was not played. Its main code bundle uses WebGPU; we found no calls to OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, OpenRouter or Groq, and the bots are game logic, so no AI is used during play. The developer reports player numbers (650+ on day one, 1,000+ within days) that we could not check, and names an earlier game, Neon Mile, that is not recorded here. The site's language is set to Australian English with prices in AUD, and one community post gives a server time in AEST, but the developer's location is not stated. A post on r/ChatGPT credits a different tool (see conflicts).
Development history
Shared on r/warcraft3 as a free co-op tower defence game inspired by the old Warcraft 3 maps, inviting players to its first proper beta test.
DeveloperReddit (u/vidiclol)Launch posts on r/ClaudeAI and r/SideProject: the game is live in beta with four races, 40 towers, a story mode and weekly challenges.
After Reddit feedback, one skip now turns off all tutorials, the first chapters are rewritten, towers can be placed on phones by tapping twice, and the 10-wave Quick Run becomes the default.
DeveloperReddit (u/vidiclol)Two weeks after launch the developer counts 369 changes, all built with Claude Code, including 4v4 Ranked, a rebuilt Story Mode, world chat and a phone version.

- The developer's posts on r/ClaudeAI, r/ClaudeCode and r/ClaudeGameDev say the game was built with Claude Code and describe the Claude Code workflow in detail. A post on r/ChatGPT on 24 Oct 2026, with almost the same text as the launch post, says instead that it was built with the help of GPT-6 Astra, that ChatGPT did the heavy lifting on the code, the multiplayer, the balancing and the testing, that the site is built on Astro, and that it is the second game built with GPT-6 Astra. We record Claude Code, which every other post names; the difference is not explained. (Reddit (u/vidiclol), Reddit (u/vidiclol), Reddit (u/vidiclol))
