About Kilowatt FM
Kilowatt FM is a free radio station management game for the browser, set in the mid-1980s. You take over a station, choose its music genre, set up the day's rotation, hire and fire DJs, sell advertising and find sponsors, promote your shows and pull stunts against four rival stations, then run the week and see how you did; after a few weeks, graphs show how you are doing in the markets. Games are played in 13-week sessions, with random events along the way. There is also a story mode based on the developer's own experience: in 2016 they took over a low-power radio station and turned it into an all-blues station, which the developer says set off a ratings war over the next few years; names have been changed. The developer, IceTraigh, says this game, like all of their games, was made completely with SuperGrokPlus AI (a name that refers to xAI's Grok), and that without being able to draw or code they could not have got a project like this off the ground before. Free on itch.io, in English.
How it was built
Partially verifiedThe developer's itch.io page: “This, like all of my games, was made completely with SuperGrokPlus AI.” The launch devlog repeats this and adds that, without the ability to draw or code, the developer would have had to be a millionaire to get a project like this off the ground, and can now put one together in a weekend. SuperGrokPlus refers to xAI's Grok, a tool we do not track, so the tool is recorded as undisclosed. A later devlog mentions waiting for the weekly AI credit limit to reset before continuing work. No model is named, and the sources do not say whether any of the code or art was made by hand.
- DeveloperLaunch devlog: “Just like my other games, it's made completely with SuperGrokPlus AI. Before today and without the ability to draw or code, I would have to be a millionaire just to get a project like this off the ground.” — itch.io (IceTraigh)
- DeveloperThe developer's itch.io profile describes making sim and management games with SuperGrokPlus AI. — itch.io
Per the developer, the whole game was made with SuperGrokPlus AI (Grok); the developer, who says they cannot draw or code, designed it and based the story mode on their own years running a radio station (2016 to 2020, per the itch.io page). The browser build is a bundled JavaScript app that includes React (observed); itch.io lists HTML5 only. Within five days of the launch devlog the game got three updates (builds 0.74 and 0.77 on 22 September, 0.80 on 25 September), the last making the finances screen update live when an advert is locked in.

“This, like all of my games, was made completely with SuperGrokPlus AI.”Verification notes: Gameplay, story mode and AI use from the developer's itch.io page (status Released; HTML5; genre Simulation; AI disclosure ticks AI Assisted, Code, Graphics, Sounds and Text), its four devlogs (21 to 25 Sep 2026) and the developer's itch.io profile, all re-read on 6 Nov 2026. The developer writes in the first person throughout, and the profile describes one person making sim and management games, so the developer is recorded as solo. “Made completely with SuperGrokPlus AI” is the developer's wording; we found no separate statement about the code, but the developer also says they cannot code. Grok has no tool entry in this database, so the tool is recorded as undisclosed and Grok is named in the usage text; “SuperGrokPlus” is quoted as written. itch.io shows no publication date for the page; the earliest date is the launch devlog of 21 Sep 2026 (20:19 UTC), whose browser build is attached. The radio station names in the story mode are changed, per the developer. The web build was checked for calls to AI services and none were found. itch.io shows no rating and no download count. Location is not stated. We did not play the game.
