About Serpentario
Serpentario is a free snake game built on the real night sky. Each level takes the stars of one constellation, with positions from the Yale Bright Star Catalogue according to the developer, and places them on the board one at a time in the order of the figure, so eating them traces Orion, the Southern Cross, Scorpius, the Big Dipper and others. Finish before the sun comes up and the whole figure lights up, with its own melody (one note per star) and its story. There are 30 constellations in four regions of the sky; between levels you fly across an open sky collecting stardust and land on each constellation's planet. Each day, Tonight's Sky makes one constellation pay double stardust, which buys skins and upgrades in a shop, and comets and clouds make some regions harder. A Sky Atlas has a fact card for each constellation and tips for finding it in the real sky. The page calls the game calm by design: a forgiving dawn timer, no lives and no waiting. It plays with the arrow keys or WASD, swipes or an on-screen joystick, and works on phones in portrait mode. The developer, Windestroy, calls it a first game and says most of the code was written by Claude; the 3D models, music, sound effects and astronomy texts were also made with AI. Made with Unity; free in the browser on itch.io, in English and Spanish, and listed as in development.
How it was built
Partially verifiedIn a post on r/playmygame (15 Oct 2026, UTC) the solo developer says this first game was made “with a lot of help from AI: most of the code was written by Claude (Anthropic’s AI) while I directed it, made the design decisions, and played and tested everything.” Per the same post, the 3D snake and star models were made in Blender by an AI assistant through scripts, the music and sound effects are generated by code that was also written with AI, the constellation art is placeholder line art drawn by a script from the star data, and the astronomy texts were drafted with AI and have not yet been checked by an expert.
- Developeritch.io AI disclosure: AI Assisted, with Code, Graphics, Sounds and Text. — itch.io
Made with Unity and exported to WebGL. Per the developer, Claude wrote most of the code under the developer's direction, an AI assistant built the 3D snake and star models in Blender through scripts, and the music and sound effects are generated by code written with AI. The star positions come from the Yale Bright Star Catalogue, and the constellation drawings are placeholder line art drawn from the star data.

“most of the code was written by Claude (Anthropic’s AI) while I directed it, made the design decisions, and played and tested everything.”Verification notes: AI use from the developer's post on r/playmygame by u/VeterinarianOk4668 (15 Oct 2026, 18:43 UTC), read from the Arctic Shift Reddit archive, and the itch.io page (published 15 Oct 2026, 04:31 UTC; updated 17 Oct 2026, 03:33 UTC; status In development; HTML5; made with Unity; genre Puzzle, Educational), both re-read on 5 Nov 2026. The post says “most of the code” but gives no share and does not say whether Claude Code or the chat app was used, so no AI code share is recorded. The Reddit account and the itch.io account Windestroy are tied by the post linking the page in the first person. The post's description calls the game “Constellation Snake”; the itch.io title is Serpentario. The star catalogue, controls, phone support and the shop come from the post; the 30 constellations, melodies, Sky Atlas and Tonight's Sky from both. The astronomy texts are AI-drafted and, per the developer, not yet checked by an expert. Only the Unity loader was inspected for network calls; nothing in either source describes AI used during play. Team size 1 from the post (“I’m the solo developer”). itch.io rating 5.0 from 1 rating on 5 Nov 2026; itch.io shows no download count. The game was not played.

Each figure measures something different — concurrent players, owners, downloads and sales are never interchangeable and are never added together. Labels show where each number comes from.
