About Snake3D Challenge

A free Snake game in the browser played on a 3D cube. Green cubes add length and points; orange rings reverse the snake, lightning speeds it up, wormholes teleport it to the opposite side, diamonds rotate the cube for a score bonus and make each later growth worth two segments, and view tokens turn the camera to face you. Diamonds, wormholes and view tokens appear after 15 seconds, and after 60 seconds a mystery meteor can start a Mystery Moment, a timed search for a golden exit. There are Easy, Hard and Explore difficulties, and the game launches straight into fullscreen. The developer, AkiviliSol, writes in English and Chinese that they are an ordinary player from China who had wanted to make a Snake game on a 3D map for years, that AI coding tools made it possible, and that the game was mainly built with Claude Opus 4.6; the developer added the simple puzzles and branching paths. The game can be switched between Chinese and English on the start menu. Free on itch.io, played with the keyboard; in Explore mode the cube can also be turned by dragging with the mouse.

How it was built

Partially verified
ClaudePrimary

On the itch.io page, in English and Chinese, the developer thanks AI coding tools for making the long-held idea possible and writes: “(The game was mainly built with Claude Opus 4.6.)” (Chinese: 游戏主要使用 claude opus 4.6 制作). The developer added the puzzles and branching paths and calls themselves not good at level design. Which Claude product or interface was used is not stated.

Development approach

A single HTML file in JavaScript that draws the 3D cube with WebGL directly, with no engine; its comments are in Chinese, and a small translation table switches the interface between Chinese (the default) and English. The developer says it was mainly built with Claude Opus 4.6 and that they designed the puzzles and branching paths.

“I'm really grateful that we live in an era with AI coding tools — they made this dream a reality for me. (The game was mainly built with Claude Opus 4.6.)”

Verification notes: AI use and background from the developer's bilingual itch.io page, re-read on 6 Nov 2026; pickups, difficulties, the Mystery Moment and the language switch from the game's own text in the HTML5 build. The developer says AI coding tools made the game possible and that it was “mainly built with Claude Opus 4.6”; that is read as Claude writing most of the code, but the page gives no share, so no AI code percentage is recorded. The developer describes themselves as “an ordinary player from China”; no name or team size is given. itch.io shows status Released, HTML5, genre Puzzle and a last update on 8 Oct 2026, 04:11 UTC, with no publication date and no rating. Snake is a long-standing game type and the game uses no third-party names or assets, so no IP notice is attached. The build was checked for calls to AI services and none were found. The game was not played.
