About Soul
Soul is a free visual novel. It is set in Lyr, a city where souls are a product: big corporations will change your soul for the right price, and smaller merchants sell relief for an afternoon. The story follows Saen, a soul developer who invents the Kindness Lattice, a device that makes your soul kind and lets you change other people if they accept, and asks what happens when everyone is kind. You click to read; the store page says the choices along the way do not change the course of the story but unlock different dialogue, and you can save at any point. The developer's Steam AI disclosure says OpenAI Codex was used to generate the images, the code and much of the text. Free on Steam for Windows, in English, released 23 Oct 2026.

How it was built
Partially verifiedThe developer's Steam AI disclosure says, in full, that "Open AI Codex" was used to generate the images, code and much of the text of the game. It does not say how much of the code, or which Codex product or model, and nothing else describes how the game was made.
Per the one-sentence Steam disclosure, OpenAI Codex generated the code, the images and much of the story text. No engine, team or development details are published.

“Open AI Codex was used to generate the images, code and much of the text of the game.”Verification notes: The AI claim is the single sentence in the developer-written AI disclosure on the game's Steam page, which names OpenAI Codex for the images, code and much of the text. Release date, free price, Windows-only and English-only from the Steam store API; the review count from the store page on 4 Nov 2026 (the review API returned nothing). The Steam page lists no website or social account, and no other source about the game or its maker was found. The developer is a person's name, shown on Steam as developer and publisher, but no source says whether others worked on the game, so the team type is left undisclosed. Steam shows no mature-content descriptors for the game, and the store text describes no mature content. The slug adds "visual-novel" because the title alone is generic.
