About Drone Wars
An arcade drone-combat survival game in the browser. You pick a callsign, a battlefield and a build, then fly a combat drone through escalating waves of enemies, with boss waves, wave directives and missions along the way; salvage earned in each run buys permanent hangar upgrades that make the next launch stronger. The game's own page lists two maps, Frontier Archipelago (islands, cliffs and naval lanes) and Siege City (dense towers, riverside roads, traffic, crowds and rooftop helicopters), three drone frames (Control Pilot, Interceptor and Heavy Frame), active abilities such as an EMP pulse and an unlockable vector dash, run mutators that trade risk for reward, and a daily challenge with a fixed seed and loadout. It is flown with the keyboard: W/S for thrust, A/D for yaw, the arrow keys to strafe and pitch, Q/E for altitude and Space to fire. The entrant says they love drones, have flown several, and see drones as the future. It was made for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of each game's code to be written by AI; the official submission lists Codex as the tool. It finished 91st of 945 entries. Free, in desktop browsers.
How it was built
Partially verifiedIn the official Vibe Jam 2026 submission the entrant lists Codex as the tool and answers Yes to the AI-written field. Neither the game nor the developer's site mentions how it was made, and no devlog says which model ran Codex. The submission covers the jam version only.
- OfficialJam rule 3: at least 90% of the code has to be written by AI. — Vibe Jam (Pieter Levels)
Built for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026 on Three.js, with Codex named as the tool. The page loads a small launcher script and then the game itself as a separate module; best scores, salvage, the callsign and the chosen build are kept in the browser.

“I love drones and I also have flown multiple of them. Given Drones are the future, I ended up making a game with Drones”Verification notes: Tool (Codex), engine (ThreeJS), genre, pitch (“Ultimate Drone v Full Arsenal Wars”), inspiration and the multiplayer (No), mobile and portal flags from the entrant's answers in the official Vibe Jam 2026 games data (submitted 12 Apr 2026, 01:06 UTC; final rank 91 of 945 entries, no award); rule 3 on the jam page requires at least 90% AI-written code. The submission marks the game as mobile-ready, but the live page lists keyboard controls only and no touch controls were found in its scripts, so only desktop browsers are listed. Developer: the jam data gives the X handle shrimalmadhur (display name Madhur Shrimal, location Seattle, WA), which links madhurshrimal.com; the game runs on a subdomain of that site, but the site's Projects page does not list it. Team size is not stated. Maps, frames, abilities, mutators, modes and controls come from the game's page. The game's scripts make no calls to AI services or other outside servers apart from the jam widget and Google Analytics. The jam page's widget counters showed 454 plays and 1,315 portal transfers for dronewars.madhurshrimal.com on 4 Nov 2026 (observed; sessions, not players or downloads, so not recorded as metrics). The release date is not stated; the jam submission is dated 12 Apr 2026.
