About Trianguloid

A small 3D arena shooter in the browser. You pilot a craft through a neon space arena, collecting orbs and fighting other pilots; the menu offers an online mode, an offline mode against nine bots, a flight school tutorial, a leaderboard and kill streaks. On phones it has touch controls (a stick for thrust and roll, hold to fire and drag to aim) whose layout can be rearranged. The entrant pitches it as an arena shooter with “every input tuned for feel, every byte tuned for size”, shipping no external assets at about 350 KB gzipped, and names a snowboard simulator of their own, Spider-Man 3's hoverboard glider, Tron, Halo and Fuzion Frenzy as inspiration. It was made for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of each game's code to be written by AI; the official submission lists Claude Code as the tool. It finished 90th of 945 entries. The developer is Rod Software LLC, an independent software studio that builds apps, websites, games and developer tools. Free, on desktop and mobile browsers.

How it was built

Partially verified

In the official Vibe Jam 2026 submission the entrant lists Claude Code as the tool and answers Yes to the AI-written field. Neither the game nor the studio's page for it mentions AI, and no devlog describes how Claude Code was used or which model ran it. The submission covers the jam version only.

Supporting evidence
Development approach

Built for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, with Claude Code named as the tool. The jam submission gives Three.js as the engine, but the live game's loading screen reads “RUST / WASM · WGPU / WEBGL2”: the client is Rust compiled to WebAssembly with the wgpu graphics library, and online matches run on the game's own WebSocket server. The settings credit two music tracks: CYBER_CELESTE by GLORYTOTHEMACHINE (CC BY 4.0, from OpenGameArt) and Black Diamond by Joth (CC0).

“Trianguloid is a 3D arena shooter — every input tuned for feel, every byte tuned for size — zero external assets shipped, ~350KB gzipped, smooth across mobile and desktop.”
— Rod Software LLC, Vibe Jam 2026 games data (entrant submissions, final rank, awards)

Verification notes: Tool (Claude Code), engine (ThreeJS), genre, pitch, inspiration and the multiplayer (No), mobile and portal flags from the entrant's answers in the official Vibe Jam 2026 games data (submitted 1 May 2026, 12:40 UTC, on the deadline day; final rank 90 of 945 entries, no award); rule 3 on the jam page requires at least 90% AI-written code. The live game differs from the submission: it shows “RUST / WASM · WGPU / WEBGL2”, its WebAssembly file carries Rust and wgpu 30.0.1 build paths, it has an online mode with a live player count, its settings credit two outside music tracks, and its WebAssembly file was last modified on 16 Oct 2026 and measures about 1.4 MB gzipped by our check, so the game has evidently been reworked since the jam; the AI share of that later work is not stated. Developer: the studio site of Rod Software LLC lists and links the game and links the X handle alex2481kobe given in the jam data (display name Alex Rodriguez); the person behind the studio and the team size are not stated on the studio site. The studio's other products include AskOther (“Let Claude Code and Codex review each other’s work”), which is not evidence about this game. The game's code talks only to its own WebSocket server and the jam widget; no calls to AI services were found. The jam page's widget counters showed 100 plays and 216 portal transfers for trianguloid.rodsoftware.com on 4 Nov 2026 (observed; sessions, not players or downloads, so not recorded as metrics). The release date is not stated; the jam submission is dated 1 May 2026.

Development history

  1. Entered in the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026 on the deadline day (submission date in the official games data); the jam required at least 90% AI-written code. Final rank 90 of 945 entries, no award.

Where sources disagree
Engine and size
The jam submission gives Three.js as the engine and describes a ~350 KB gzipped game with zero external assets and no multiplayer. The live game's loading screen says Rust, WebAssembly and wgpu, its WebAssembly file is about 1.4 MB gzipped (our measurement, file dated 16 Oct 2026), it has an online mode, and its settings credit two outside music tracks. This most likely reflects post-jam changes; no source explains them. (Vibe Jam, Rod Software LLC)
