Rights holder / original work: Slope (RobKayS / Y8)
The developer presented Hurtle on Hacker News as “Slope remade in HTML5”; it is an endless ball-descent game of the same kind. The game's site describes it as an original game unaffiliated with Slope, its creator RobKayS or its publisher Y8, but uses the Slope name for search-term pages (“Slope 2”, “Slope 3”, “Slope online”) that point players to Hurtle and to the original on Y8. No Slope assets are named by any source, and no source mentions a licence from the rights holder. (Hacker News (novlrdotcom))
VibeGameDB lists this game only to document that it was made with AI coding tools. We do not host it, we do not represent the rights holder, and listing it does not mean it is licensed.

About Hurtle
Hurtle is an endless descent game in the browser. You steer a ball left or right down a banked track that keeps pushing you toward an edge; speed climbs the whole way, the track narrows, gaps open that you have to jump, and the run ends when you hit a block or run out of floor. Everyone gets the same track each day. Ten sliders let you set the steepness, path width, obstacles, jumps, floor tilt, speed, camera angle and height and two colours, and one button resets them; there is also a classic look. It plays with the arrow keys or A and D, or by touching either half of a phone screen. The developer, Nate of the one-person SnapHit Studios, posted it on Hacker News as “Slope remade in HTML5” and says it is served in under 100 KB with no ads, lag or logins. The game's own site, however, describes Hurtle as an original game that is not Slope and has no connection to Slope's creator RobKayS or its publisher Y8, while running search-term pages for “Slope 2”, “Slope 3” and “Slope online” (see the IP note). The developer says it took one week of iterating in conversations with Claude Opus, which built the whole thing. Free, no account.
How it was built
VerifiedThe Show HN post says: “This was just me working with Claude Opus 5.” Asked how long it took and how much the model's work had to be checked, the developer replied: one week of constant iterations, “Just Claude Opus conversations, it built the whole thing”; the game was HTML5 from the start, crude at first, with the gameplay settled before rounds of polish. The developer describes conversations, not Claude Code. Whether any code was written by hand is not stated beyond that.
Built over about a week of conversations with Claude Opus, gameplay first and polish after, by the developer's account. The site describes the game as a single file with no fonts, scripts, images or trackers loaded from elsewhere, and the post says the whole game is served in under 100 KB; a new track is generated for each day.

“Just Claude Opus conversations, it built the whole thing.”Verification notes: The AI claim comes from the Show HN post of 31 Jul 2026 (17:11 UTC) and the developer's reply in the thread the same day: Claude Opus 5, about one week, “it built the whole thing”. Claude is recorded as the chat assistant because the developer speaks of conversations. The link between the Hacker News account novlrdotcom and SnapHit Studios rests on the post linking hurtle.site, the game page crediting SnapHit Studios, and the studio site linking novlr.com; the studio site's own game list did not name Hurtle in the text we could read. Solo: the studio site calls SnapHit Studios a one-person game studio. Gameplay, controls and the ten sliders come from the game's site. The Show HN post is the earliest dated mention found, so no release date is recorded. Slope: the HN title calls the game a remake of Slope, while the site now says it is original and unaffiliated and links to the original on Y8 (see conflicts and IP note); we did not compare the two games in detail. The same Hacker News account also posted another game, Beakdown, which is not included. Location is not stated. The game was not played through.
