About Minotaur
A 3D puzzle adventure in the browser set in a torchlit Minoan labyrinth. Chambers connect to a series of maze puzzles populated by minotaurs, werewolves and spiders; solving a maze lights the altar beside its entrance, and a chamber's door only opens once all of its altars are lit, leading on through further chambers to a throne room. A level menu lets you pick mazes, reset a level or watch a walkthrough, and there are graphics settings. The game ends on a “Thank you for playing.” screen with a credits list that names the third-party 3D models, music, sounds and textures used, all under Creative Commons licences. The entrant names The Talos Principle, Portal, The Witness, Canabalt and Wordle as inspiration, and the page calls it a “Levels Jam 2026 prototype”. It was made for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of each game's code to be written by AI; the official submission lists Codex as the tool. It finished 506th of 945 entries. Free in the browser on the developer's own site.
How it was built
Partially verifiedIn the official Vibe Jam 2026 submission the entrant lists Codex as the tool and answers Yes to the AI-written field. No devlog describes how Codex was used or which model ran it. The game's code bundle contains a plain-language layout specification for its chambers and throne room, written as instructions (for example “Place torches on each wall next to a door”), but the sources do not say how it was used. The 3D models, music, sounds and textures are credited third-party assets.
- OfficialJam rule 3: at least 90% of the code has to be written by AI. — Vibe Jam (Pieter Levels)
Built for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026 on Three.js with a React interface, with Codex named as the tool. The mazes are loaded as data files. The 3D models (including “Minotaur” by yanbelmont, a werewolf and a spider), music from OpenGameArt, sounds from Freesound and textures are third-party assets credited in the game under CC-BY, CC-BY-SA and CC0 licences.

Verification notes: Tool (Codex), engine (ThreeJS), genre (Puzzle), pitch (“Spooky Minoan puzzle adventure”), inspiration and the multiplayer (No), mobile (Yes) and portal (No) flags from the entrant's answers in the official Vibe Jam 2026 games data (submitted 1 May 2026, 11:16 UTC; final rank 506 of 945 entries, no award), re-read on 5 Nov 2026; rule 3 on the jam page requires at least 90% AI-written code. Developer: the game runs on dangant.com and its credits screen links x.com/dgant, the jam handle; that profile's name is “Dan Gant ⚡ PurpleWave ⚡ Games” (location Jersey City; bio links the word game Belly Jeans on itch.io and the StarCraft bot PurpleWave on GitHub). The dangant.com home page could not be opened from our network. Team size is not stated. The chamber, altar and maze structure, monsters and credits come from the game's code; the game was not played. The credited assets are third-party works under Creative Commons licences and the Minotaur is a figure from Greek myth, so no IP notice is recorded. The entrant answered Yes to mobile support; this was not checked. No calls to AI services were found in the game's code. The jam page's widget counters were not checked for this game. The release date is not stated; the jam submission is dated 1 May 2026 (UTC). Other games named Minotaur are unrelated; the slug includes the developer's name to tell them apart.
