About BrewMagic
A potion-shop game made to be played on a phone in portrait with one thumb. Customers walk in with oddly specific problems (“Hay's gone limp. Want it fresh and growing. Duchess is judging.”) and never say which potion they want: the words they use are the clues, with warmth and courage pointing to ember, calm and cold to frost, growth and healing to bloom, and sleep and spooky things to gloom. You mix two or three ingredients whose essences add up to the right potion, then brew it by hand by stirring in circles to the ghost ladle's tempo, holding to pour and letting go on the line, scrubbing the pestle and pumping the bellows to keep the heat in the band. A good match and a steady hand earn a Perfect with full pay, a tip and reputation; a wrong one is a Misbrew with side effects such as tiny polite fireballs or a moody personal rain cloud. Customers queue and lose patience, so you keep the line moving or refuse the impossible ones. A 20-day story adds an ingredient, station, rival or rush each day, with an inspector, a rival shop and a sneezing stranger, and how you treat them decides which of three endings you reach; there is also an evening market for stock and upgrades, a codex of hints and recipes, an endless Rush Hour mode, and Gentle and Assist modes for easier brewing. The developer, linostar, says Claude made everything: the code, the pixel art written as text grids, the synthesized sound and music and all of the writing; the customers run on rule-based logic and no language model runs in the game. Made in Godot for Jamference: AI Game Jam Hack 2 (theme: Crafting); free in the browser on itch.io.
How it was built
Partially verifiedThe jam answer: “Claude made everything: the code, the pixel art (written as text grids), the synthesised sound and music, and all the writing. In the game, customers run on rule-based AI with patience, mood and over 13,000 generated looks; no language model runs in the game.” No model and no interface (chat app or Claude Code) is named.
- DeveloperThe itch.io page's AI disclosure ticks Code, Graphics, Sounds and Text; the page itself does not describe how AI was used. — itch.io
- OfficialJam rule 1: AI must genuinely be part of the build (code, art, audio, writing, design or a live system), and entrants must say what they used and where. — itch.io (dg)
Per the jam answer, Claude made the code, the pixel art (written as text grids), the synthesized sound and music and all of the writing. The customers are rule-based, with patience, mood and over 13,000 generated looks, and no language model runs in the game. The page lists Godot as the engine, and the web build is a Godot export (observed). In an earlier Jamference entry, Silly Kitty, the same developer wrote: “Claude built the whole game under my direction. I chose the concept and the features, playtested every level and asked for changes.”

“Claude made everything: the code, the pixel art (written as text grids), the synthesised sound and music, and all the writing.”Verification notes: Gameplay, modes and accessibility options from the developer's itch.io page (published 20 Oct 2026, 05:58 UTC; updated 4 Nov 2026, 05:10 UTC; status Released; HTML5; made with Godot; languages English; input Mouse; AI disclosure ticks Code, Graphics, Sounds and Text); AI use from the answers on the official Jamference: AI Game Jam Hack 2 submission page; both re-read on 5 Nov 2026. The team list names only linostar, so team size is recorded as one. linostar is a pseudonym; the developer's answer for the earlier Jamference: AI Game Jam Hack 1 entry Silly Kitty is written in the first person (“Claude built the whole game under my direction”). The answer says Claude made everything, including the code, but gives no percentage, so no AI code share is recorded. The “rule-based AI” of the customers is scripted game logic, not generative AI. The scripting language is not stated. Jamference (16 to 23 Oct 2026, theme Crafting, restriction Playable on Mobile; 37 entries) has published results: #8 overall (score 3.667) from 7 ratings, with Polish (#7) the best placing. The web build (Godot index.js and index.pck) was checked for calls to AI services and none were found. itch.io shows no public rating and no download count. Location is not stated. We did not play the game.
