About デストロイ碁

A free browser version of Go that keeps the normal rules but makes captures visible: the more stones you take in one move, the bigger the effect, in seven levels from “GET!” for one stone to 破壊神降臨 for twenty or more, with the board shaking and debris flying. Faint marks stay where stones were taken, coloured territory hints spread around stones and link connected groups, and a stone that could be captured next move shows cracks. An optional Destroy rule adds HP bars: captures deal damage, a player at zero HP loses at once, and securing groups with two eyes heals. The site also offers a dungeon mode (破壊の迷宮), a tutorial, a computer opponent, two-player play on one device, and online ranked and friend matches. The developer, ROBIT, says in a Zenn article that it was made by telling Claude what to build, trying the result and asking for fixes; the first prompt went in around 00:30 on 21 Oct 2026, and the free version went public on 23 Oct. The interface is in Japanese.

How it was built

The developer's Zenn article says development worked by telling Claude what they wanted in ordinary words, running what Claude made, pointing out what was wrong and having Claude fix it, then saving to GitHub, over and over. The first prompt (a 19x19 Go app for two players on one device, with effects scaled to the number of stones captured and a seven-minute clock) produced a playable board in about seven minutes. The article says “Claude” and does not name a product or model; the developer's Zenn profile mentions building apps with Claude Code in general. The developer chose the final sound effects from a free sound library instead of Claude's synthesized ones.

Development approach

Request, run, critique, fix: the developer described each feature in plain words, played the result and reported what looked wrong (for example, that the meteor effect looked like fireworks, or that 15 captures looked bigger than 25) until it was right. Ideas such as capture marks, territory hints and cracks on stones in atari came out of this back and forth, with Claude proposing the cracks. The HP-based Destroy rule was added after play-testing with friends showed that beginners could not tell who was ahead. The site is plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript on GitHub Pages, deployed through GitHub Actions; online matches use Firebase Realtime Database, and the computer opponent has nine levels, the upper ones using Monte Carlo playouts (observed in the site's files). The article was drafted by Claude from conversation and commit logs and checked by the developer.

Verification notes: AI use from the developer's Zenn article of 1 Nov 2026 (12:00 JST) (“開発は、AI の Claude にやりたいことを伝えて作ってもらい、動かして確かめ、気になるところを直してもらう、というやり方で進めました。”). The article names only “Claude”, so the tool is recorded as Claude, not Claude Code. It does not say that the developer wrote no code, so no AI code share is recorded. Dates (first prompt around 00:30 on 21 Oct 2026; free version public on 23 Oct) from the article. Capture levels, marks, territory hints, cracks and the HP rule from the article; the dungeon mode, CPU, tutorial, online ranked and friend matches, spectating and the free-edition note from our look at the site and its JavaScript files (version 0.1.0). The computer opponent is a conventional rule-based and Monte Carlo player running in the browser; we found no calls to AI services. Online play uses Firebase; visits are counted with GoatCounter. Go itself is a traditional game, so no IP notice applies. The article is tagged 個人開発 (solo project) and mentions playing and filming with friends, but does not say whether anyone else worked on the game, so team size is not recorded. The interface is Japanese (lang=ja). The developer's location is not stated.
