About Fever Trip
A single-player first-person shooter in the browser with a story campaign. Per the entrant, an agent is sent to investigate a strange occurrence, soon finds himself in the middle of a war with aliens, and must also fight his inner demons, quite literally, before he loses his sanity. The campaign runs through four levels, an office building, a plane on Flight 117, a desert exclusion zone and a forest, told through classified briefings and documents; “fever trips” can strike along the way, and collectable orbs, an alien language to decode and achievements reward exploring. Besides Story Mode there is Free Play with a best score per level. You fight with a pistol, SMG and shotgun, grenades and a knife, and can sprint, crouch, lean and aim down sights. The entrant says they always wanted to make video games, like storytelling, and aimed for a single-player campaign with good shooting mechanics. It was made for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of each game's code to be written by AI; the official submission lists Cursor as the tool. It finished 69th of 945 entries. Free, on desktop only, with mouse and keyboard.
How it was built
Partially verifiedIn the official Vibe Jam 2026 submission the entrant lists Cursor as the tool and answers Yes to the AI-written field. Neither the game nor the developer's portfolio mentions AI in connection with the game, and no devlog describes how Cursor was used or which model ran it. The submission covers the jam version only.
- OfficialJam rule 3: at least 90% of the code has to be written by AI. — Vibe Jam (Pieter Levels)
Built for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026 on Three.js, with Cursor named as the tool. Weapons and enemies are 3D models with separate animation files, the renderer adds post-processing effects such as chromatic aberration, and scores are stored through an Upstash Redis endpoint. The credits name only the developer and do not say where the 3D models and animations come from.

“Always wanted to make video games, and I like storytelling. So here's my shot! So made game with a single player campaign with good fidelity in the shooting mechanics.”Verification notes: Tool (Cursor), engine, genre (“Action, Adventure, Shooter”), pitch, inspiration and the multiplayer (No), mobile (No) and portal (No) flags from the entrant's answers in the official Vibe Jam 2026 games data (submitted 30 Apr 2026, 19:50 UTC; final rank 69 of 945 entries, no award); rule 3 on the jam page requires at least 90% AI-written code. Developer: the jam data gives the X handle cr42yd09 (display name “su”, website fvrtrp.com); the game's credits link that profile, and fvrtrp.com (“Fever Trip (fvrtrp) - portfolio, blog & projects”) lists the game and other projects such as the Sesh browser extension. No real name, location or team size is given. Levels, story text, achievements, weapons and controls come from the game page and its script; the story details are the game's own and are summarised, not checked against any other source. The game's code talks only to an Upstash Redis endpoint, Google Fonts and the jam widget; no calls to AI services were found. The jam page's widget counter showed 99 plays for fevertrip-game.vercel.app on 4 Nov 2026 (observed; sessions, not players or downloads, so not recorded as a metric). The release date is not stated; the jam submission is dated 30 Apr 2026.
