About HOSHIKUI
HOSHIKUI casts you as a dying star drifting through an endless, procedurally generated galaxy. Heat is your health, fuel and timer at once, and you lose it every second; the only way to get it back is to crash into other stars and take theirs. There is no attack button: collision does the damage, the healing and the movement. Swallowing stars adds mass, which lets you eat bigger prey but makes you cool faster and pulls you toward giants, while your body decays from hydrogen through helium, carbon and silicon to iron, each stage changing your stats. A cooling front spreads out from the origin, so standing still is fatal. The galaxy holds 34 kinds of celestial bodies, from gas giants you can hide in to black holes that kill on contact, and runs mix ten in-run upgrades with a permanent research lab. The store page says the game ships no art or audio files: every image and sound is generated by code at runtime. The developer's Steam AI disclosure says the source code was written with Claude Code under the developer's direction and review. A paid Windows game on Steam with a free demo.

How it was built
Partially verifiedThe developer's Steam AI disclosure says the game's source code was written with Claude Code, under the developer's direction and review. The store page says the art and sound are not imported assets but generated by the game's code at runtime, which is procedural generation, not AI. No other AI use is described.
Per the store page, nothing in the game is an imported asset: every pixel of art and every sound effect is generated in code at runtime. The developer's disclosure says Claude Code wrote the source code while the developer directed and reviewed it. No other development details are published.

“The game's source code was written with Claude Code, an AI coding tool by Anthropic, under the developer's direction and review.”Verification notes: The AI claim rests on the developer-written AI disclosure on the game's Steam page; no website or social post by the developer was found, and the developer's Steam announcements (seven update posts, 9 Sep to 24 Oct 2026) do not discuss AI. The store's statement that all art and sound are generated in code is the developer's description of procedural generation, not of AI. Release date, price, demo, platform and languages from the Steam store API. Steam showed no user reviews on 3 Nov 2026 (the review API returned nothing), so no review figures are recorded. The relationship between the developer (rspepe) and the publisher (Sakamo Productions) is not stated; team size and location are unknown.
