About KERF: Sawmill Tycoon
KERF: Sawmill Tycoon is a first-person sawmill simulation in which nothing happens without you. You start with an axe in a clearing at the foot of a waterfall, fell trees, cut the trunks into logs, haul them to the yard and feed a growing chain of machines that you operate by hand, where how steady you are decides what comes out. The valley has ten species of wood, with the best growing furthest away and opened up by reputation rather than money. Logs are never sold raw: you make planks, firewood, chips, pellets, bark, fertiliser and made-to-order furniture in three grades, and customers walk into the yard with orders for a specific product in a specific wood, which you crate and sell at the counter. Later you can hire workers for the machines and the counter, upgrade the mill level by level, drive your own truck, and dig out stumps and plant saplings, since the forest does not grow back by itself. There is a day and night cycle, no combat and no failure states, and streamers can connect Twitch or Kick so that chatting viewers walk in as customers. The developer's Steam AI disclosure says the game was made almost entirely with AI tools, that the code was written by an AI coding assistant, and that the developer did not model, rig or write code by hand. Made in Unity 6 by a one-person studio in Poland; a paid game on Steam for Windows, released 20 Aug 2026, with its interface in 15 languages.

How it was built
Partially verifiedThe developer's Steam AI disclosure says the game was made almost entirely with AI tools: the developer directed the work, chose what went into the game and approved every result, but did not model, rig or write code by hand. The code was written by an AI coding assistant, which also rigged the characters and built most 3D models (the valley, buildings, machines and trees) by writing scripts for 3D software. Characters and some props came from an AI 3D tool, all character animation from an AI motion tool, all music from an AI music tool and some sound effects from an AI sound tool; the in-game text was written with AI assistance and translated with AI. No content is generated by AI while the game runs. No tool or model is named.
- DeveloperThe studio site describes a one-person studio in Poland whose developer says they cannot build games alone and taught the AI to do the parts they can't. — MGDB Studio
One developer directs and approves; per the Steam disclosure, an AI coding assistant wrote the code and built most 3D models by scripting 3D software, while other AI tools generated characters, animation, music and some sound effects, and the remaining sound effects come from sound libraries. The press kit names Unity 6 as the engine. The disclosure says the Twitch integration only shows messages typed by real viewers.

“The developer directed the work, chose what went into the game and approved every result, but did not model, rig or write code by hand.”Verification notes: The AI claim rests on the developer-written AI disclosure on the game's Steam page (re-read on 4 Nov 2026), which says the game was made almost entirely with AI tools and that the developer wrote no code by hand; no tool is named, so the tool is undisclosed. Steam lists mgdbstudio.com as the game's website; the site links the Steam page (“Get it on Steam”), calls MGDB Studio a one-person game studio in Poland, and its press kit names Unity 6 as the engine. Characters, animation, music and some sound effects are AI-generated before release, as disclosed; the disclosure says no content is generated by AI while the game runs, and the Twitch/Kick feature shows real viewers' chat messages.
