About Mudlark Pottery
A cozy 3D crafting game about a small pottery studio with a wheel, a kiln that hums through the night and a cat who watches everything. Orders arrive by post from people around the world, such as a tea bowl for Hana in Japan, a water pot for Riya in India, a tagine for Fatima in Morocco or a whistling botijo for Carmen in Spain, drawn from 20 pottery traditions. You centre the clay, open it and pull up the walls on the wheel, shape it to the order, cut it free, trim the foot and add handles, spouts, ears or feet, then paint, stamp and scratch designs, sign it with your maker's mark, dip it in glaze and fire it overnight. Customers collect their pots in the morning and later send a thank-you letter with old black-and-white photos of the pot at home, and sometimes a gift for your shelf. Between orders you can make anything, sell pieces from the shop window overnight and spend the coins on glazes, paints, stamps and studio decorations. It was built for phones first, with touch controls on the clay itself. The developer, Kay Kovalčík (Atlas House), calls Claude in Claude Code the lead developer that wrote the three.js game, after Codex built the first prototype. Made for Jamference: AI Game Jam Hack 2, where it ranked 1st overall. Free in the browser on itch.io, on PC or phone.
How it was built
Partially verifiedThe developer's jam answer calls Claude in Claude Code “the lead developer”: “It wrote the three.js game and modelled the hero props in Blender, both live through the Blender MCP and with headless Blender scripts”, including the kiln, the decorating kit, the shop cat, the gifts and the pieces you add to pots. It also researched the 20 pottery traditions, wrote each customer's letter and recipe, and tested the game, playing every order on a 390×844 phone screen. The model is not named in the answer; the itch.io credits read “With Claude Codex Opus 5.5”.
Per the same answer: “Codex (OpenAI): built the first prototype, which Claude then took over.”
ChatGPT made the old black-and-white photos each customer sends with their thank-you letter (credited “Photos: ChatGPT” on the itch.io page). Suno made the music.
Made with three.js for Jamference: AI Game Jam Hack 2 (theme Crafting, restriction Playable on Mobile). Codex built the first prototype and Claude Code took over as lead developer, writing the game and modelling the main props in Blender through the Blender MCP and headless scripts. It was designed for phones first, with a portrait and landscape camera per station and lower render resolution on phones. A devlog describes the move “from "cheap mobile phone vibes" to a cozy little world”.

“Claude (Anthropic), in Claude Code: the lead developer. It wrote the three.js game”Verification notes: AI use from the developer's answer on the official jam submission page and the itch.io credits, both re-read on 5 Nov 2026. The jam's own rule (“AI must be part of the build”) is not code-specific. The answer does not give a share of the code, and Codex built the first prototype, so no AI code percentage is recorded. Credit wording differs: the in-game menu says “Built with help from Claude (Anthropic) and Codex (OpenAI).” and the itch.io page “With Claude Codex Opus 5.5”, both less specific than the jam answer, which is used here. Team: “Just me - Kay Kovalčík (Atlas House)”. Publication (21 Oct 2026, 19:32 UTC; updated 29 Oct 2026), status In development, genre, tags and the gameplay from the itch.io page; the submission page said it was submitted 12 hours and 18 minutes before the 23 Oct, 07:00 UTC deadline. Jam results (13 ratings): 1st overall (4.282), 1st in Polish and Use of AI, 4th in Fun; the results page says 37 entries were submitted and ratings were given to 38, and the itch.io page says 38 entries. The customer photos and music ship as files; no calls to AI services were found in the game's code. The devlog was not opened. The game was not played.
