About Save the Laddoo

A casual ant-defence game in the browser, set in a grandmother's house during an Indian summer holiday. One laddoo, a round Indian sweet, sits on the table and ants stream in to take it; you have to hold them off for three minutes. You squash ants one at a time with a tap, smash clusters with a chappal (a slipper), drop pools of water that block and drown them, draw a protective rekha, a line ants cannot cross, and put down sugar as a decoy. Red ants and big “tank” ants are worth more points, and the lights can go out mid-game in a power cut. The entrant describes it as a game about every 90s Indian summer, with Nani's house, the ceiling fan and load-shedding, and says it is not about the score but about taking people back to their childhood. It was made for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026, whose rules required at least 90% of each game's code to be written by AI; the official submission lists Antigravity, Google's agentic coding tool, as the tool. It finished 542nd of 945 entries. Free; the submission marks it as mobile-ready, and on phones the game asks to be played in landscape.

How it was built

Partially verified

Google Antigravity, an agentic AI coding IDE. In the official Vibe Jam 2026 submission the entrant lists Antigravity as the tool and answers Yes to the AI-written field. The game does not mention AI, and no devlog says which model ran in Antigravity or how it was used. The submission covers the jam version only.

Supporting evidence
Development approach

Built for the Cursor Vibe Jam 2026 with Google Antigravity named as the tool. Per the submission it uses no game engine: a custom requestAnimationFrame game loop in React and TypeScript, drawing with the Canvas 2D API and playing sound through the Web Audio API. The game is a single bundled script and talks to no game server.

Verification notes: Tool (Antigravity), engine answer, genre (“Strategy, Survival / Tower Defense (Casual Arcade)”), pitch, inspiration and the multiplayer (No), mobile (Yes) and portal (No) flags from the entrant's answers in the official Vibe Jam 2026 games data (submitted 26 Apr 2026, 05:09 UTC; final rank 542 of 945 entries, no award); rule 3 on the jam page requires at least 90% AI-written code. Both re-read on 5 Nov 2026. Antigravity is not one of the tools this site tracks, so the tool is recorded as undisclosed with Antigravity named in the text. Developer: the page's author tag reads Akarsh and the game's credit “created by akarsh” links x.com/akarshmanas, the X handle in the jam data (display name akarsh; the profile's location field reads Mankapur and it links a Substack under the name akarshyadav, so the full name is not certain and is not recorded). Team size is not stated. Tools (tap, chappal, water, protective rekha, sugar), the three-minute goal, ant types and the power-cut event come from the game's script; the game was not played through. The game's script talks only to the jam widget; no calls to AI services were found (checked 5 Nov 2026). The jam page's widget counter showed 89 plays for savetheladdoo.vercel.app on 5 Nov 2026 (observed; sessions, not players or downloads, so not recorded as a metric). The release date is not stated; the jam submission is dated 26 Apr 2026.

Development history
